There was alot being discussed on this topic a few months back on helifreaks. Here is a clip from a member there named Slyster who posted alot of info. about his setup. Said he liked it and had no issues. The one I'm building i'm gonna run 550mm and the Align 1220kv with Pulse 5500mAh packs, and the Castle Talon Esc. Shooting for 2200hs and around 4-5 min flights hopefully. Changing the boom might give more authority, I'm gonna try it without first, giving me the option to still run a longer tail blade.

I'm in the process of building my first heli and I chose the Fusion 50 with the 550 conversion kit.

Here is my build list.

FBL: iKon
Cyclic Servos: Hyperion DS20X-SMD.
Tail Servo: Futaba BLS251
Receiver: 2 x Spektrum DSMX Remote Receivers
Batteries: 2 x Gens Ace 5300mha 6S 30c
ESC: CC Phoenix Ice 100
BEC: WR Super Hurcules mini
Motor: Scorpion HKIII 4025-1100kv
Blades: Radix 554mm V2
Tail blades: Radix 95mm

I am still in the learning phase and I don't think that is ever going to end!

I am really looking forward to completing this build and flying this heli this spring.

Is the shaft long enough for the bearing on the Align 1220. I currently have the Quantum 560 on my Fusion but would prefer to run 6s. I understand running shorter blades but would like to keep the long boom.
