i have a flightpower evo25 v-power 2500mah 6s 22.2v lipo.
25c continuous 35c climbouts 50c max bursts
62.5 amp 87.5 amp 125 amp

there is the main power leads= big red and big black
a small set of four wires= 3 red and 1 black
a small set of six wires= all red

which ones are the charge leads....balance leads...etc..?

the battery says 6s but when i plug it into my triton to see the balance between the cells only 3 cells show on the display. isnt the term 6s....6 cells in series? shouldnt i see six cells on my charger?

I didn't say you did it...I said I was blaming you.

The charge lead is the thick red and black.
The other wires are your balance tabs
Not sure about the balance boards or the chargers so hopefully someone else chimes in.
I don't think there is a ground on the battery balanc board or charger.
Take and post a pick and I am sure others will chime in.
I hate those evo balance tabs. The most widely used tabs are jst XH and thunder power. Try to stick to those when you get more batteries

I have never seen a battery that fits the description that you posted. Is there any chance you could post a picture?

i got it.

i have to have both of the small leads plugged in to see all six cells. didnt make sense to me for a minute. i thought it should show all six cells on the small lead with six small wires...of course you have to have both plugs with a total of ten wires plugged in to see six cells...makes perfect sense...lol. hell, i didnt know...ive only delt with 7.4 in the past. this is the first time with this 22.2 stuff.

I didn't say you did it...I said I was blaming you.

Here is some helpful info. It seems the flight power balance leads use the Thunder power configuiration.

This is a common configuration of the EVO 6 cell packs. The two sets of balance leads combine to allow balancing the six cells. The Flightpower balancer has adapters to link together the two sets of wires out of the six cell pack.

Using a charger that will charge a six cell pack (NOT a Triton) and the Flightpower balancer will get the job done. Using a charger that will accomodate a six cell pack without the Flightpower balancer will also get the job done, but without balancing the pack.

The older I get, the fewer things seem worth waiting in line for.

the triton 2 should come with the balance board fro the flightpower batteries, and it will charge the 6s battery no problem.

I never understood why the Lipo companies couldn't just all agree to use JST-XH balance connectors.

Having multiple styles out there is a pain in the neck and limits your customer based because of a stupid little connector.

Because JST-XH connectors aren't the greatest and others were using different connectors long before HK started using JST-XH connectors.

If you look at what TP did (they actually thought about it) they cover 2s-10s with only two different balance connects! XH is a mess! Do we really need eight different connectors for 2s-10s?

The Triton 2 EQ was one of my first chargers.
I charged Outrage 6S packs with the exact wiring that the OP describes.

I don't remember where I got my adapters though....I'll poke around.

Dunno.....the Triton has max output voltage for Li-Ion/LiPoly of 14.5V (4 cells), the Triton 2 has max output voltage of 18.5V and manual sez 5 cell max. Don't understand how you can max out a 22.2 nom volt 6 cell pack that will pump up to about 26V peak with a charger max output of 18.5 volts.

The older I get, the fewer things seem worth waiting in line for.

That is the Triton 2 EQ - a charger that can run on 110VAC and other features. The Triton and Triton 2 are 12VDC chargers only.

It's pretty simple actually. Simply buy batteries that fit your charger, or buy an adapter.

Unfortunately my experience with the Flightpower EVO packs was not very good. Even when babying these packs, I never had one that still put out decent power past 50-60 cycles. Many of them lost most of their punch around 30-40 cycles. They also ran very hot when pushed hard, even with the older motors that have much less power than today's hot motors. Lots of hype when these lipos were introduced, but for me, it was a lot of wasted money. Hope yours works better.
