I have been flying the stock 126 tooth main gear with a OS 105 non pumped motor. I knew by doing the math the stock 8.4 gear ratio was not the best choice that would give optimal mid range and high in torque for the motor.

Last week I ordered the 120 main gear wich drops my 8.4 gear ratio down to 8.0 it made all the difference in the world. Even with the 8.4 ratio the Heli has plenty of power but I could tell the engine really wasn't as happy as it could be...

So in closing if your running the OS engine call Amain on the west coast or experience RC on the east coast and grab a 120 tooth main gear. yOU WANT BE SORRY

I agree 100%.

To be honest though a even lower ratio would better again. Something around 7.8 would be perfect.

OS HZR engine
I don't have the engine but I have seen its performance. It's a very solid motor and I am sure with the 120 tooth main gear it will perform great with plenty of power and torque...

I have a new YS 913ds that needs a home. What gear ratio would be better for this engine.

What would you guys recommend for upgrades that are needed, not bling stuff.
