I recently purchased the Honestech VHS to DVD 5.0 Deluxe to convert my old video tapes to digital. Having used the Honestech software, I was wondering from those that edit videos what software they are using and/or their personal thoughts.

Thanks

Cyberlink Power Director. For video editing, and it has a ton of options for formats, etc. And many other nice features. Not to hard to learn either.

I use Sony Vegas pro. I have been happy with it, but there is a learning curve with it.

Walk on water long enough, eventually you will get your feet wet.

Same here, Sony Vegas is great. I have Adobe Premiere Pro also, but for most things Vegas is easier and faster and more intuitive to use. For me it mostly has to do with crop and multilayering features .. Video events and effects are also easier to do in Vegas when starting out.

Now one piece of software that I would really like to learn to use is Adobe After Effects! there is so much cool stuff you can do with that ! its like the photoshop of video
