Picked up a new to me Trex 600EFL PRO wth DFC head and very happy ..Only thing I plan on changing is the power wires (ESC to lipos) because to me,there too long...

Trex 600EFL PRO DFC
Align BEC
Align DS610 cyclics
Aign DS650 Tail
CC ICE 80HV V2
Outrage 4125-560kv(Quantum motor with Outrage name on it)
12S Turnigy 3600mAh 30-40C
12S Turnigy nano 65-130C
Vbar 5.3PRO/CGY750 V1.3 (will swap between the two)
Futaba 8J

As of right now im super happy with the setup but once these Turnigys die,im going back with Gravity lipos...Guess i'll find out soon what the 600EFL PRO and DFC head is all about, should be fun ..

That is one nice bird. Align DFC, V-Bar, and solid tail and cyclic servos. This ought to be one fun machine.

Motor? KV?

Align 600 EFL
I used to have 2 of those last summer....logged in a couple hundred flights on them with no issues...great flying machine...

fast and smooth flying ...you're going to enjoy that heli...it didn't really have any bad points in my opinion..

I actually jammed in a scorpion 4035/500KV and a Quantum 500KV in mine and they made tons of power

AerialSkyCam,
Dang, knew I forgot something..Its a Outrage 4125-560kv and everyone says its a Quantum motor .From what I seen, its a more efficent and more powerful motor vs the stock Align motor..Either way,its going to be a fun flyer for sure..

Thanks...

Jag72,
Thats awesome man and good to know...Did you have to mod anything for the 4035 size motors?I had a Align 700MX 510KV in my old 12S 600E and LOVED it..Stupid power and my flight time was awesome, around 5:00 - 5:30 mins beating on it with the 80% lipo rule at 2300RPM headspeed..I wanna put 90 size motor in this one and Align just come out with the 800MX motor ..If the 800MX fits in here and is more efficent over the 700MX,i'll get retarted power (LOL) on top of even more flight time (clost to 6:00 - 6:30 maybe) ..If anything,i'll go with another 700MX because I was super happy with the power/flight time....

4035
the only thing I had to do was to put spacers behind the front 2 servos..on the rear side of the servos(towards the back of the heli) ...this angles the front servos just enough to fit the 4035 motor

aside from that the motor bolts right in ,....BTW...I was running the align servos on a straight 2s lipo and a drop down for the align 650 tail to 6 volts...hundreds of flights with no issues

Quantums=Xera
Yes...the Quantum is basically an xera

the Quantum 4530 is a perfect example...these are MONSTER motors that run cool and efficient....even better than the expensive Scorpion motors ..

Awesome..Im going to skip the Align motor and save up for the Quantum 4530..Do you think my CC ICE 80HV V2 will be enough or should I get a 120HV?
Thanks so much ...

I don't think the Quantum 4530 will fit without some major shimming (including widening the frame itself). The frame is only 53-54mm wide where the motor mounts and the 4530 is 56.8mm.

I currently run a Scorpion 4035-500 with the servos shimmed to make it fit. At 50mm it is a very tight fit. I have also flown the EFL with the Quantum 4135-530 (my backup motor) & it fits as tight as the Scorpion. I think sqeezing in a larger motor would need more mods than just shimming the servos.

The Quantum 4135-530 makes a TON of power in the EFL. I would highly reccomend it along with the Scorpion 4035.

trex 600 efl ultimate setup
I think the Ultimate setup is the Quantum 4135/500KV on 12s using the vbar gov...that was even better than the scorpion 4035...you cannot fit anything larger than that in the efl due to the tight space the motor is in...the 40-41mm is max

BTW...I was using a Hobbywing 70AHV ESC with 14/14 and never had an issue

here's an old vid of mine

The Quantum runs cooler than Scorpion.

The way Lon flies, a cooler motor will be more efficient.

Kc,
Both are in the box ..
The Vbar is the newest V5.3PRO and I 100% LOVE it..The CGY750 is brand new and the newest V1.3..Been trying to make my mind up on which one to put on and planned on the Vbar because I know it well and can set it up in about 10mins..Kinda wanted to do my maiden flight with it so if something was wrong,I know it wasn't the FBL system..Going to be 20+ mph winds again tomorrow so that will give me time to go through the setup on the CGY750 a few times, thats what I did with the Vbar the first time I set it up..Just kept going redoing the setup over and over and over again until I could do it without the manual or anything..I'll get it setup tonight and do it a few more times tomorrow,Sat will be the maiden (5mph winds) so I hope all gos well..
