What length rods do you use from the swash to the main grips? 55, 60 or 65mm?

I'll be very interested in the answer as I have set the lengths as per the manual in the combo kit with 48mm between inner edges of links.

I'm getting about 3-4 degrees pitch with the lower links being 18mm and servo arms centered. Not sure why the default values given are so off. Also using Savox servos provided in the kit.

I'm not sure which rods to adjust and if they can go that far to get zero degrees with servo arms centered.

According to Jan Matros, he said 55mm for the 400, he uses 65mm on the Logo 600 and 60mm might be correct for the 500. I might just buy both (60, 65) and be covered.

Thank you Jan!

Edit - I think I've got 60mm (will take apart if requested but I'd rather not) and I need to shorten the link length to get zero degrees. That's from the recent 500 super combo kit. So I don't think 65mm will work if using 30mm rods below the swashplate. Checking the distance, if they were 65mm it would be extremely tight or not fit and unable to shorten further. That's with Savox servos. But as you said better to get both and be safe!

Do you know if there is any variation on the servo arm location (arm mount point) between different servo companies for the one size used?

Also, should I be shortening the default link lengths below or above the swashplate?

Dan, you can use either the 60mm or 65mm rods. The links will need to be screwed down all the way when using 65mm. I found this preferable to only have a few turn on the rod to get the correct link length when using the 60mm rods.

I was advised to buy these turnbuckle rods for my logo 500 ..they are on the way to me and are 65mm x 2.5mm

Sure hope they are the right ones!

These are not the correct ones as the mikado standard link is too small for the thread.

Sorry to hear that. Was thinking of trying out the turnbuckle type rods as they look easier to adjust.

Well, it turns out the 500 Super Combo came with 65mm. Managed to bend one and replacement 60mm is just that 5mm shorter. Back to the shop one more time.

By the way, the length is not the issue, it's the 2.5 mm part! Mikado links don't fit that rod in the above link.

BTW, I NEVER follow any manual's suggested lengths. I set the swash at zero pitch, the grips at zero pitch, the servos at 90 degrees, and buils my own links. It can never be wrong then

400driver - The original question was about the length and it just happens that I now also need to know the answer and 65mm is the Mikado answer, for me anyway.

Laughingstill - What link length did you come up with to get zero pitch swash?
