Looking to possibly get into rc gas boat for this summers fun. Just like my high quality made helis, I would like a high quality rc boat. My problem is, I have no idea what brand is high quality when it comes to RC Boats.

Im more so interested in the larger Hydro boats usin Gas 2 stromer motors. So if any of you guys could guide me to the proper rc ompanies to deal with, that would be awesome.

Thanks

You might want to look into signing up at the "international waters" boat forum (intlwaters.com).

A few heli guys there (so I was told a few years ago when I signed up and introduced myself). Lotta helpful guys there. Be forewarned, though, the r/c boat scene is NOT like the heli scene. You will either get parts from other boaters, or fabricate them yourself.

Granted, this isn't always the case, but it's not like you can just dial up Ron's and get X part for Y model at T time. At any rate, good luck, man. Running boats is fun! I haven't run a boat in a very long time, but it is really fun. Never got into racing, but those guys over there make me consider it by reading their posts!

Yeah just make sure you run it from a real boat or have a real boat on hand, for obvious reasons.

I have one like this from Aeromarine Laminates. This is the H45 Thunderbolt.Awesome to race and for fun.Mine is the bright yellow version.

I have the DDM 29CC Big Block with the BH Hanson water cooled tuned exhaust running a 67x17/3 prop.It flat out flys on the water and is very stable in the turns.

I used to race. Wife got mad I spent all day at lake with buddies playing with boats. Now, I play in the backyard with helis. Mean 'ole bitch. I still got a Whiplash she don't knows about. Don't get married.
This has to be the funniest thing I have read all day.

I never got into boats. I tried and it only lasted for about 6 months. Not sure if they still make them but I always wanted a Prather Fun Cruiser. Not a racing boat but I'm sure that it could be converted into one.

Not sure where you got that video, but that's my boat. I built it, ran it for a year, and sold it to a fellar down south- couple years go.

I know it's my boat cause I put them blue flames on it and painted the canopy by hand, even added silver rivets. It's got an RCMK Evo in her and sum bitch hauls the mail.
Ok,I now see who to blame for me building one of thoseI watched that video a ton before I pulled the trigger.Actually I got my Hull from CCRacing Engines in New Orleans. That is still one of my favorite videos mainly on the slo mo when you can see the hull just sipping a taste of water, and yes it does haul the mail!

Cool thing is that boats can rip in snow pretty damned good to with a good roost!

...Once upon a time there were Nitros, flybars and frequency pins...

Those are pretty cool but the nitro outriggers is where it is at! I had a .90 sized Eagle with a CMB .90 motor and it was a 95-100mph boat all day!. Nitro motors on boats are no where near as bad to tune and they are not as temperamental either. The head stays cool from the water so the motor almost NEVER runs hot (unless you clog the turn fin inlet somehow). The motors also last for ever if you service them properly. I had that boat for 4 years, never replaced any parts in the motor and I ran it every weekend. Just remove the motor when you are done, spray it clean with alcohol, then DOUSE it in ATF and put it in a bag....lasts forever. Reinstall it before you run each day (four bolts and 5 minutes).
Anyhoo, check those out as well, they are awesome and if I didn't have so much invested in helps, I would have one again

I ran for a month on $3.50 of gas with Zenoahs.

Try doing that with Nitro. Starters and belts are a pain in the butt too. The minute the inlet clogs, that nitro pops faster than a drunk cheerleader on prom night.

Same thing happens in a gasser, it dies. Bring it in, cool her down, and send her back out again.

RC Boats
Radio Control (RC) boats are a hobby fans young and old to enjoy boating. Sailboats, motorboats and warships are just some of the many designs of fans enjoy RC boats. These boats are powered by electric motors, gasoline engines and even wind power. However, despite all these differences, RC boats fiberglass or plastic, it all starts with a boat mold.

Regards.
Andy.

A good site for R/C gasser boats is Jim's RC boat dock. It's like RunRyder but for gas boats. If I were to get another boat it would be an AC mono with a quickdraw motor.
