I balance every time. I think its ok not to balance but I personally would never go more than 3 to 5 cycles without balancing and only on batteries that stay well balanced because the individual cells are pretty closly matched in IR

My Hyperion lets me chose the capacity percentage to end the charge at in the field I set this to 95 percent it saves me the last 5 to 7 minutes that you are just peaking the pack at almost no current so its time saved. My balancer usually completes in the first minute of the charge. Most of my batteries that goes on this charger are within .001 and .007 of eash other at all times. Batteries that are further out of balance while charging or batteries that are way off blanace after flying are the ones that I would never charge without balancing.

When im messing around flying my small electrics in my back yard at home I let them complete to 100%

I love parallel charging what a cool way to take advantage of the power my charger has by charging all my batteries at once. I just picked up a parallel balance charge board for my MCPX BL and my 130X.

I like the FMA board better myself. It's rated for 40A.

Figure I would point everyone to a key source on parallel charging link.

Remember the cells all have to be somewhat close in IR. They don't have to be exactly the same, but you don't want to high rate parallel charge packs with cells having an IR of 1.2 with a pack having cells with an IR of say 12. Otherwise the higher IR pack may not get fully charged, or it will slow down charging of the lower IR packs.

Also, don't charge old packs with new packs or proper cell balancing may not be achieved. Common sense needs to be used somewhat.
