Maybe I am just lucky, but I have used Priority Mail since its inception (decade or more?)and never had an issue.

I know of no other service that will send a small package from coast to coast in 3 days or less for less than $6. And supply all shipping materials @ no cost.

I think, like any company out there, It really comes down to what employee handles your package. If you get a disgruntled worker who thinks the world owes it to him then I would expect the package wouldn't make it to your place with the most gentle of care (if it makes it there at all).
Example:

They all seem pretty self explanatory...

Do a search on youtube and you will find many more examples!

I have to agree with ticedoff8. If they just treated the packages with even the most basic of care then there should really be no need for insurance. I work for a service outfit and when we go to a customers house to repair a pipe were not asking them to purchase insurance to cover them if we flood their house. It is our insurance that covers the damages because we are the ones who caused the damage. If a shipping company damages a package however for some reason it falls on us to take responsibility. If we gave them a package in good order to ship then it should be their responsibility to get it there in the same condition.

Not sure why I drew the lucky straw to be the preface for embedded video, but to each his own. My experience is just that, mine. Opinion and an a$$..e, I have one of each just like everyone contributing to this thread.

I have used every package service out there and had the crap beaten out of stuff by every one of them. The common thing to all of the services is a human, and there are lousy ones, albeit in a minority, in all larger companies.

For now though, if I need to get a package economically from one side of the country to the other quickly with a statistically high chance there will be no issue, I'll still send it Priority Mail.

If we wanted to get an opinion with some weight on here, we would ask someone like Ron Lund who through his business has shipped a gazzillion packages by Priority Mail. I will wager that if his customers were having packages lost or damaged at a significant frequency that he would not offer that shipping method. Hell, Heliproz added the service several years ago because so many guys wanted it.

Yup. And, the previous "what if the plane/truck/train crashes and burns?" argument does not work. It's still THEIR fault and if the package doesn't make it and/or is damaged? They did NOT do their job and they should be on the hook for it. Heck, look at Tom Hanks in "Castaway" as a dedicated Fed-Ex employee.

UPS delivered my blades today from ReadyHeli!

What was RH thinking sending blades with United Parcel Smashers?
RH provided no extra padding (Protection) on either end of the box???? Why?

I am going to refuse this shipment and do not feel safe flying
these blades even if they are not damaged?

Thanks, UPS
Thanks, RH

Every time I received a long box from UPS it looked like they try their best to bend it to half its lenght.
Smaller boxes have huge indentations, larger ones arrive with at least one LARGE hole.

I now always note to please send USPS priority with tracking or insured.

I agree that Priority mail is a fast and economical way to get something from here to there quickly and without damage most of the time. My problem with USPS is the atittude and poor level of customer service. If I never have to deal with them face to face then the service is fine. It's obviously a government job, and there is a huge difference in the quality of service when you go to the UPS or Fed Ex counter vs. the Post Office. You go to the post office and there will be 10 people in line with one person working the counter in slow motion and they won't work any faster regardless of how long the line is. I was there this morning and the USPS attendent was literally talking with the customer ahead of me about the weather long after the transaction was completed while at least 5 of us waited patiently in line. Like I said in a previous post it's a lot like dealing with the DMV.

I totally agree ^^^ with USPS attitude, it is the worst service group to deal with.
A while back they lost a package I shipped to Puerto Rico, it got there and then was lost between the PO and the delivery.
Knowing who I was dealing with, I had it insured . They still gave me hell trying to claim it.
4 months later, I received a check for the value claimed.

Today, it is the UPS who literally is trying to destroy every package delivered by them, and I try to avoid them.

See my USPS crew at the PO is awesome AND they have a hot chick working there!!! I personally prefer USPS. Have they damaged packages, yes but so have UPS and FED EX.
Now when I order from Readyheli here in FL, I choose UPS because it will be here the next day and my UPS driver's phone number is on my phone . He is very polite and will let me meet him to get my packages if I miss him here at home. I guess it is about making relationships with the people that service your packages as well. I also give them Christmas cards with a little $$$ in them at Christmas time too

Then you should have spoken up instead of standing there like a stooge waiting.
