the initial cost is about the same as a 1.20 sized nitro helicopter

the ongoing fuel cost is about 1/10th (if not better) as the same

both Helibug and HWC make conversions for the TRex 600, each uses a different format of the Zenoah motor but work equally as well

They are pretty heavy as 600's but will do 3D maneuvers. There's a SmackTalk episode that features Bert flying a Trex 600 conversion. You can judge for yourself. There are other videos as well just do a search

Don't forget the Radikal 20. It is between a 600 and 700 size. It is not heavy like the conversions and does 3D quite well.

dooooh, I did forget that

Michael just be aware that each uses a different motor format:

a) HWC 600 = Zenoah PUH
b) Helibug 600 = Zenoah RC
c) Radikal 20 = Zenoah G20

there's not a "better" here, just different

TRM, BH Hanson make all 3 engine formats, HWC currently makes the PUH and G20 formats and will offer the RC as well soon

there will be some other 600 options later in the year

Depends on how you equip your machine and what brands you buy
You can use cheaper or more expensive servos, put flybarless systems with self recovery or not, put modified motors or stock motors, spend more on tuned pipes or less on mufflers, etc.

The price you quote of 2 to 3k sounds very reasonable for a 700 class machine with some bling in it. At 3K is will probably be top of the line stuff.

Gassers like any helis can break in a crash, but your daily fuel savings will pay for the crashes. If you just put 10 bucks per 1/2 hour airtime in a jar every time you go fly your gasser instead of your nitro you will have money set aside for a bad day down the road.

We're counting flights on the HF forum gasser section if you want to check that for interest, trying to burn a 1000 tanks this year as a challenge John asked to do, and as of today I have 116 flights in since 1/1/13. I've been burning entire tanks so 20 minutes per flight, so 20 x 116 = 2320 minutes airtime. If I go by the above $10/30 minutes my savings jar now has $773 which is way more than enough to pay for any crash damage. Just trying to illustrate to you how the savings add up, so get yourself a gasser you'll never look back!!

700 class is much better power to weight or should I say rotor lift to weight and the bigger machine will fly better than smaller ones in general and auto better to boot. Go 700 instead of 600 would be my advice.

Ya I just don't want the cost of a 700, is there any videos of 600's doing 3d, the ones I found arnt really good

I'm basically looking for something with a engine to mess with, I was also looking at the gaui nx4 or a 30cc gasser monster truck

If I got a big gasser Heli I would most likely sell my logo but would like to keep the cost of the Heli around 1500ish max

The 700's I've seen are over 2k for the kit motor and pipe only

yes it will fit the HWC 600 conversion

TRM and BH Hanson also make similar motors that will fit into that conversion as well as the Helibug

You can buy the Century one sure
Its cheap and will fit within your budget. I think you can get a radikal 20 for $199 if they are still having that special, and sometimes they have a combo with a motor as well.

That video is not of that engine.

That engine will fit a Trex 600 with HWC conversion

Building a 50/600 plus size Heli for around $1500 will be a challenge period. Gas, electric or nitro

Trex 600 kit $260
HWC 600 conversion currently $260
Engine of choice $500
pipe of choice $150

Total $1170

Leaves you $330 to finish Heli to hit you $1500 mark.

So that motor fits the g20... It's listed as 500 so I guess it's done

If that video is not that motor then what is the video of? And is there any of that motor?

This engine is for the Radikal 20
http://centuryheli.com/products/eng...html?pageid=338

The engine you linked will not fit the Radikal 20. It will fit a Trex 600 conversion

That is a video of the 29cc engine. I am not aware of any video showing the 20, 231 or 26 versions.
