On a raptor nitro going FBL will save more than 15% fuel.
So depending on your number of flights a fbl will pay itself easy.

I think I have to agree with that. Didnt think about it until now, been flybarless for a couple years. used to fly 6.30 minutes flybarred.
I find I get about 7.5 minutes before I hit the header tank. Yep thats between 10 and 15% (flying time anyway)

BeastX as a tail gyro only. Then you just need a FBL head if you decide to go FBL later.

60% of the time, it works every time!

If you're sticking with flybar, the GY520 or the Quark are both great choices.

BeastX and CGY750 can both be used as a tail gyro until you get a flybarless head.

Less resistance=less load=longer flights therefor? Less fuel used to achieve same flight times.

Ysr, without the aerodynamic drag of the flybar a nitro engine will operate at a lower throttle percentage thus saving fuel. Not sure it would be as much as 15% though.

It's definitely a noticeable boost in flight times.

Good old Raptor 90 That is my only heli without some 3m tape on the gyro. It has been holding that little 520 for over 3 years and the tail is solid as a rock so I figured there is no reason to change it yet.

If you want to talk out of date... it has 9252s on cyclic and a 9251 on the tail... and a flybar too

Still gets the job done suprisingly well for "out of date" equipment

I had great luck with the GY520 prior to going FBL and getting the Vbar.

the green gel tape is not going to work well at all with the beastx.
OK for a GY-520, but do not put this type of tape under a beastx.
(speaks from experience)

GY520, you can use digital or analog servos with it.
