All the motor brands on the market seem to have 2 out three of the formula for best motors, either power, efficiency, and reliability. Align has recently been releasing really good motors that fit all three criterias. There latest motor is the monster 800MX 520kv, with an output power of up to 11000 watts. Tested with CC Gov and without Gov.

Aligns new motor will do 11000 watts of output power, specs are;
Input volts and output power are: 11.1-50.4v DC and 5100cont to 11000watts
Cont. amps and kv are 115-250a, 520kv
Diment.,wght, and mech. are: 6x56.7x93.5, 508g, stat arm 12 poles 10
Governor mode with CC 120 @ hs 2250rpm

CC NO Governor @ hs 2450 rpm

Great job Align!! I have been very happy with the 750mx in my Synergy, it is a real powerhouse. Looks like they stepped it up again!! Glad to see they are always improving.

I'm curious why only a 120A ESC. Usually people want a 160A or more.

If the 120 works for Kenny ko then 120 is enough! This motor is slightly lower kv than the 750mx so won't actually pull all that much more current in this application, stick it in a goblin 700 and over gear it too much and a 160 maybe required.

With bigger more powerful motors you can use lower gearing and still govern to the same head speeds without bogging.

60% of the time, it works every time!

Totally agree on the "lower gearing", which is a higher gear ratio number.

Yes for clarity lower gearing means higher gear ratio. For even more clarity, a smaller pinion!

Align will soon offer to the US market and global a new program to trade in your scorpion motor for a brand new 800MX. Align currently has the offer in Asia but soon global, so if you've just bought a scorpion motor and now realized that it is not for you, hold on to it, Align will offer you incentive to rid yourself of it.

3dgimble, Your statement indicates, power, efficiency, and reliability, but only includes a spec for power. How did you measure/verify efficiency and reliability?

3dgimble, Do work for Align? Are you an Align representative authorized to make company announcements on their behalf?

Just curious whether this is an official statement being made by Align or something your found elsewhere and are re-posting here.

Ace Dude a question without answering your question, are you ever going to use an Align 800MX or any other align electronics?

BTW, thank you Mr. Richardmid1, thank you for being positive and not a constant TROLL like some of the RR members.

Funguy, Thanks for taking the time to answer my question.

If Align makes a worthwhile product I'll buy it. I've owned lots of different products from a lot of different manufacturers over the years. When a better product comes along I buy it.

What I don't do is invest my Ego in the products I own or think are good. Especially with products I have no hands-on experience with.

What troubles me is the specs are only up to 50.4V. that's 12S. For an 800 class heli most will be using 58.8V or 14S.

Perhaps the specs. will be revised when Align officially releases the 800MX here. Although the 520kv is too high for most gearing available to use with 14S.

Good observation, you may be right about the final numbers, but just like the 750MX it may not have been design specifically for that size heli as the designated number would suggest. All testing I have seen were done on 700 size helis as seen in the videos. So it may be just a hyper 700 motor, they may be developing a 450 KV motor for you rexxpilot?

I guess if you want this motor in your 700-800 size heli you need to stick to 12s. Nothing wrong with 12s.

That would be awesome!! Align has been releasing a lot of great motors lately with their MX series. I would definately trade in some of my other brand electric motors if they made a trade-in deal that was fair.

The press release issued by 3dgimble only mentions Scorpion brand motors. Perhaps he can clarify whether other brands of motors will be eligible for the incentive program.
