wrxlerate,

IRCHA is set up to accept shipments from anyone. You can pack and ship anything you want and ship it directly to IRCHA. They are geared up for it. I'll assume that shipping would be cheaper than paying for extra frieght on the airlines.

Shipping
Still working on figuring out how to get the batteries there is all. Kind of a nightmare to figure out. The helis will be going under the plane in a hard sided golf case, and the radio will be coming on the airplane with me.

wrxlerate. Pretty sure u will have to carry on the batteries. And you will be limited to two big batteries. you would be better off shipping them with helicopter to ircha. Here is a link to faa guidlines.

IRCHA isn't set up to accept shipments from anyone except vendors and sponsors and they are sent directly to AMA HQ for pick up. There just isn't room for anyone and everyone to mail their helis and have them sit at the Headquarters.

Batteries
So are we not able to ship our batteries to AMA for pickup at IRCHA? I would have no other way to get them there.

Did you reserve a hotel or are you camping/using an RV? If using a hotel I personally would have them shipped to the hotel and pick them up there.

IRCHA will not accept shipments or be responsible for packages sent to AMA for the general public. Event attendees must coordinate shipment and receipt of their equipment and materials to and from the event on their own.

Sound like Andy could make a small business of having stuff sent to him or one of the othe Muncie guys.
Ask Nick or Bobby or Kyle about carrying on batteries. They carry more than 2 packs and fly all over.

Hell - ship 'em to me in Wisconsin. I'll trailer them down to Muncie for you. I usually arrive at the AMA grounds Tuesday evening and leave Sunday morning.

You obviously pay for shipping and I only ask you provide a donation for my time.

For those of you needing a place to ship your batteries:

I live less than 1 hour from the event and plan to arrive the Wednesday of the event in the afternoon to set up our booth.

My email:
wrenusa@centurylink.net
Send me a note and I will forward to you the shipping address. I would require some type of ID when you retrieve your package from me, just to ensure that all ends well...

I am happy to help anyone with shipping issues. All you need to do is ship them to me in your own personalized container, and I will bring them along with me. You can then pick them up at our booth.
Hope this helps.

Also...the Man Grille will be smoking up a bunch of pork for the Friday night SWARM party!!

Best regards,
Ron Ballard

Seems the easiest way to keep an eye on the heli is to ship it with me. IRCHA, can not wait!!!

Signature Inn is no more..it is now Baymont. I think the phone number is the same, though. Since I live here and have never stayed in any of them, I really can't chime in to say which hotel is the best one.
