Has anyone ever broken or bent a spindle or even blades while going from full negative to full positive vertically? I do this alot and it just looks like something should break but never has.

You done it now.....

Dont forget with the blades spinning the spindle is under tension and being pulled tight. Its still is a minor miracle these machines don't grenade.

I have a Titan 50 with an os 70 in it and run 14 degrees pitch both ways and spin the head at 2000. I use 620 blades with the stock spindle and a Gforce head. Just looks wrong but sure has a wow factor.

I have bent the stock feathering shaft on an Evo 50 in flight. Not that hard to do from what I remember.

You can bend a spindle in an Evo 50 quite easily.
I cannot say I have ever tried to intentionally bend one going from full neg. to pos. pitch.

Walk on water long enough, eventually you will get your feet wet.

i put woodies on my hard 3D 450 setup once. it flew ok for about 30 seconds, but was very sluggish.

then i took it up about 75' and went full negative. popped full collective about 4-5' off the ground. there was a loud 'whack'..heli kept going straight in to the ground. blades snapped off about 2" from the bolts.

haven't been able to break carbons, or anything else in the running gear. this includes running 710s at 2300rpm. but, that was kinda scary sounding.

i watched kyle dahl wringing out the logo 700 when it was first announced. i remember thinking at the time that if that wouldn't break or bend anything, nothing would.

if it ain't broke, break it.
