I thought the mini-v easy to set-up plus I learned a few things from mikado about geometry in the process.

I liked using Mikado's method for seting up pitch and cyclic with out the use of a pitch gauge.
And other stuff about servo resolution how to increase or decrease as needed mechanicaly
I was the same camp of " why should I buy a laptop or extra gadget "

spending time, paying attention

It's really all about feel, some have it for some people and some just don't and the other way around, there's no right or wrong, good or bad, it either feels right for that person or not and if it don't then they find one that does and the brand doesn't really matter, it's all about the feel !!!     ▲

Android Phone interface for V-Bar
I have installed a silver V-Bar with 5.3.4 Pro on my new Whiplash Gasser and after the initial setup using my laptop with the USB cable I installed the Bluetooth module, downloaded the V-Bar Android App. to my phone and now I can do ANY changes, read the logs and fine tune it using my Android phone within 50 feet from the heli.

Of course the heli should be landed and NEVER put the V-Bar in the "Setup" mode with the engine running or the motor is powered-up.

No more running back to the laptop or remove the canopy and connecting the V-bar controller to fine tune your V-Bar!

Of course "No texting and flying" with your cell phone!

Im hearing a lot of people saying the pots will wear out on the bx? That's not where you put the starter shaft ya know?! I've moved the pots about 1mm twice and that's it! Oh no have I worn them out?

I have also heard 'inconsistent tail', I believe that was sorted after v1.

FWIW, love the vbar, bx, skookum, helicommand, don't love the vortex!
60% of the time, it works every time!
