my year is starting off , on the work bench
i have 2 helibugs, a 700 and 600. i built my 700HNB last march. i flew it for six months. perfect. then one day the 700HB went into fail safe. the helicopter slowed up, the tail started a slow rotation, the helicopter then would roll to the right and go it. i went throught the machine and could not find any reason for the lock out. i started flying it again. after about 4 flights it did it again. i replace the receiver, and rec. battery. rebuilt. after 2 flights it went in again. i replace the servos on the swash and the gyro. rebuilt. i then flew the 700 until the end of last year. yesterday, first flight of this year, i took my 700HB out. i took off, flew it around a few min. then went inverted. came out of it. i was straight and level. all of the sudden the heli slowed up the tail again rotated, the heli rolled to the right and went in. just about totaled it. i am going to do one more rebuild on it. i have not idea what is causing the lock out. just kind of bummed.

Sounds like a similar issue that I had about 4 times and finally sent my radio in and they replaced the RF board and it has been fine since then. A FBL controller that is also a receiver can exhibit similar tendencies if it looses power or goes low voltage.
I hope you find something definative.

Man what a drag!! Sorry to hear this. The only thing you didnt mention replacing was the TX! The TX works fine on other aircraft? Are you using the same rx switch on the heli? RX and TX packs good? Any second now I'm sure you will get better educated help than mine. Good LuckSetup is everything, All my heli's can fly far better than I can pilot them

have you checked for ignition noise in the RX power supply...

not an easy thing to check for...you would need a handheld oscilloscope hooked up across the power leads...

did this with a Fluke O scope when I had issues with my CDI making noise and messing with the CC bec that supplied power to it...would cause random engine sputtering at High RPMs.

wonder if ignition noise would cause a lockout?
showing a preference will only get you into trouble, 90% of everything is crap...
