I did both for now, just to be on the safe side.

I did edit the first post to read Java.
Thanks HelinutAndy.

Why??

I googled it. There's a new exploit that is unpatched by Oracle.

I thought the Ipad did not come with a Java plugin or more specifically Safari Java Plugin. It looks like I may be wrong. I have a few Ipads around but I do not use them much but I 'ass'umed that Java plugins did not come with the OS.
Why??

I googled it. There's a new exploit that is unpatched by Oracle.
I'd like to read about it a bit and could not find any details. Do you happen to have a link?

I disabled Javascript and just about every webpage I visited experienced issued with various items failing to load. I couldn't find how to disable Java. In IE it's Javascript and in Chrome it's the same thing. How do you disable Java without disabling Javascript?Stupidity can be cured. Ignorance is for life!

JavaScript is different than Java .. disabling JavaScript will break most web pages.

Don't fear JavaScript, modern browsers keep it contained and isolated from your computer and it's required for most web pages to work properly.

Java, however, has always been a security nightmare, nothing new here, as the JVM (java virtual machine) by default generally has access to whatever you do on your computer.
