Shipping Lipos
I know it has been asked before but I can't find it.
I want to ship about 10 ea 5S 5000Mah batteries by UPS or FEDEX. Does anyone know the rules for sure. It is not clear on the UPS or FEDEX site. These batteries are not new but not puffed, about a year old. No, I'm not selling them, but want to offer them with my 700 size electric when I sell it, if the buyer pays shipping and understands these batteries are not new. I would ship them separate from the helicopter.

EDIT: Did find this on UPS so this explains it:
• In the U.S. rules
— Cells must not exceed 1.5 g of “equivalent lithium content”;
— Batteries must not exceed 8 g of “equivalent lithium content.”
You may calculate “equivalent lithium content” by multiplying the
cell’s or battery’s ampere-hours by 0.3. Since most small batteries
are marked with milliampere-hours, you must first divide milliampere-
hours by 1,000 before multiplying the result by 0.3.
.
Looks like I could ship 5 batteries in each pkg.
.
Any comments ???
I think about the hereafter. I go somewhere to get something, then wonder what I'm here after ?

Last time I was in the post office I looked and their rules seem to only apply to international shipping, didn't see anything on domestic... Not sure on ups

There is a new set of rules as of 1st of January 2013, kind of in the void right now, shops and factories along with carriers trying to figure out exactly how it should be handled.Gone fishing..or hunting..or something

Hi guys

When I get to work again..... I will check the Dangerour Goods regulations. I am on reserve this month, so it may be a while..... Or not.

The only place I have access to them are actually in the cockpit.

Regards
Paul
