Futaba 14SG (and 8FG) Warnings when turning TX power on...
I dont't understand Futaba designers idea, why I get warning if HOLD is ON. In electric helis I should get warning if HOLD is OFF, because it much safer to start transmit if THR is off not on. Now I must put hold off and on again every time when I start my TX.
I don't want to take this warning out, but it works wrong way!

No, it is not all the same. In Spectrum DX8 you can choose HOLD switch invert - you get alarm if HOLD is not ON!

In Futaba there are four warnings, whitch you can choose on or off:

1)Condition warning - idle should be normal and hold should be off
2)Thr cut
3)Thr pos - stick should be minimum position (thr can be full if there is bad curve...) and
4)Thr hold - only hold must be off.

It is must safer to put TX on if Idle switch should be in NORM-position and HOLD should be ON - in this case ESC should not arm, but if HOLD must be OFF it can arm, if there is bad thrcurve or something...

Hi

On the 8fg, you can change the name of the condition.....

So if you want, change the name 'hold' and 'norm' around and it will work.

Is there some efects to function if I change names? i must test this :-)

Main thing is that I can power on my TX without warnings if
1. Idle is in NORM -position
2. Hold is ON -position
If is is not like this there should come Warning before it start to transmit signal.

Hi 4Dee

What i mean:

It is a switch function.

The alarm will come on if all switches are not "off"

So, put a zero throttle in your "norm" condition and chance its name to "hold"

Paul

I like the warnings. My 10CHP warns me if I left or bumped the switch to Idle 1 instead of normal. I always check and it has not saved me yet but I am glad it's there. I hope Futaba starts matching the models to receivers. I have set the wrong model a couple times.

Hold is a flight condition, not a function so there is no function to rename. The radio warns you of being in a non-default condition (hold is considered a non-defalut condition). With that said, I understand what you are asking for. I'll shoot this over to our Product Managers to consider as a suggestion for Futaba.

Hi
For all my heli in the normal condition (I call it the startup condition) the throttle channel is limited. For electric it is completely locked at -100 (no active) and for nitro the range is limited to the position where the clutch engages. Like this no risk for the blades to turn when you are close to the machine.

Many are starting to do this now when flying electric machines. Certainly a good, safe way of doing things.
