LIFE PACKS YOUVE BEEN WARNED
WAS just told by The major supplier of 6040 cyclic servos that warranty and will not be covered because of a over voltage ! Caused by life pack:

Perhaps it would be better to edit your post title to reflect the issue as being with a specific servo @ LiFE voltage instead of having a title which gives the initial impression that these kinds of battery packs are inherently bad.

Should add lipo to that title, too. There are servos out there meant for higher than 6 volts.Man, I miss the eighties.

In the specs, the servo is clearly rated for 4.8v to 6v. I am unsure why anyone would expect the manufacturer to warranty a servo operated outside of the voltage rating.

Exactly, just because one peson posted they have hundreds of flights with no issue the user still needs to take responsibility for the choices they make and decide the risk they are willing to accept.

Well just my opinion from what I've noticed with the LiFe packs I use on my DS610 Servos is that the moment my receiver is powered on voltage drops almost instantly to 6v so that certianly shouldn't overload them.Team Align (Enterprise Hobby)

I agree with Dr. Ben. Hotstart, please fix your title.

Also, I'd imagine that if you over-volt any servo, it wouldn't matter what the chemistry of the source is.
