Tail bounce on G4 e720 what to tweak with 1.3.1?
I have a CGY750 on an e720, it is working great except that I am getting a pretty decent tail bounce on hard maneuvers and a slow barely noticeable back and forth in hover (gets much worse on lower head speed). I have lowered the gain to 50% and it is a lot better but not gone. My question is this: is there something else beside lowering gain more that I should think about? I am running 2100 Head Spead with a YGE gov on gov store mode. I don't think this is oscillation due to gov issues, can't hear them but I guess anything is possible. I have tried the gov gains in the YGE both up and down. Didn't make a difference that I could tell to this tail kick.

Any ideas out there?

Thanks,

BLS157 on cyclic
BLS256 on tail

I changed from a 120A esc to a 160A esc at the same time I updated the CGY750 firmware to 1.3.1 so either one could be a red herring... LOL

It did not do this this bad (it was barely noticeable) before I changed to the YGE ESC, but I have tried every form of increasing and decreasing the governor gains and speed change parameters without making any change in this behavior at all. So I guess I need to make changes in the tail control to account for it... I just hate reducing my gain any further :-)

Oscillation:

The problem is most likely unique to the model or the ESC. That model with that servo on that gyro almost invariably produces a solid tail at the gain you are trying to run; it certainly does in my case.

Look closely at the entire t/r system for any bind. Check tail thrust races too. Then make sure that the esc is driving the motor smoothly. Run it just straight throttle curves and no governor to make sure the governor is not hunting.

Bounce:

DELAY OUT for left and right rudder inputs is in the EXPERT menu for rudder and will help a great deal.

I did try a flat throttle with no gov and it still did it. That being said, I'll re-inspect all components to be sure of perfection in the tail... and if needed add some control out.
