There should be a shim on top of the belt gear and one on top of the main gear. The manual shows a .2 shim on top of the belt gear and a .5 shim on top of the main gear.Bill Whittaker

Carbon frames
Is it normal that you have to remove the the motor pinion support bearing bracket to be able to tighten the motor mount bolts?

Also on the 3 rd pinion bracket confesed what side is up. My guess is the the braket has a hollow side I assume that faces up and the smooth side down.

Who ever setup this heli had the hollow side Down and the main gear hub rubs on the bearing. If u know let me know thanks.

I have had to remove the pinion support bearing to tighten motor bolts. Since I dont have a long enough driver, I also had to remove the battery tray each time I messed with the motor.

I forget which side is which but I always put the side you insert the 3rd bearing into up so there was no chance of the bearing falling out when I took the heli apart.
