nitro
i think that if you fly you should be well versed in both nitro and electric. If you dont fly nitro your just flying toys LOL( i associtaed Nitro with being more real), not toyish if that makes sense" Althought i have both...electric is cool in its own way, but the smell, sound and wine of the engine is just sometimes better then sex

Im so glad i started on Nitro, love the sound and smoke, most of all working on these little engines is all about the hobby and very interesting, the most annoying thing is,well starting with the spare parts from the big suppliers,i usually get my parts in about a week or so,well today i checked my order which was placed two weeks ago has not been shipped yet,the supplier explained glow engines are not that popular anymore so there is no high demand for parts,so there is proof that mr ELECTRIC wants to take over.

Why do the electric fanbois always trash up a thread that asks specifically about nitro?

You hate it...we get it...Why do you open a thread you have no interest in?...Simple answer?...To trash it up.lol....

I get 8 flights with my 2S LiFe pack by the way and then charge that pack with a $25 charger. It takes 20 minutes...

An hour in the air for every 20 minutes of charging...That's MY favorite thing

The large torque would be nice. But, when I see all the equiment the electric guys have to lug to the field I wonder how long does it take them to pack the car. Tables, charges, power supplies, generators, gas for the generator, extension cords. Then there is the noise and exhaust fumes from the generator. The high end Honda ones are quiet though.

I like the engine aspect of nitro. Simple as that. I recognize the simplicity of electric in concept but the cost and actual time and real world pain in the butt factor of electric for large models is a turn off. No one can convince me a generator and charge station is simpler than a jug of nitro and a starter. I feel it's pretty much situational dependent. For some baysitting batteries and such is better than tuning and cleaning nitros. To each is own. I like electric small stuff and nitro big stuff. My main exception would be scale. A large electric scale ship sounds pretty awesome.

One thing I miss about nitro is the sound, and the Smoke Trail! For orientation purposes, it was really nice to have that little white line to follow...

BUT I have a few Castle Creamations, so a smoke trail is pending!!!

Will I ever get a nitro again.. maybe if it was given to me. For my money and flying style, a gasser is the way to go these days.

Had nitros for years and then went an older MA 1005 gasser. I sold that to try an electric. Now I am back with a gasser that has Raja's on board generator...fuel up and fly!

I would still own a nitro if the fuel wasn't so expensive.

Still running the old nitro X-cells, engines just seem to to have a bit of "soul", compared to electrics. Besides, when the heli is making noise and smoke, THATS when I know its time to pay MORE attention! AMA # 943111

Maybe we are a dying breed but there's plenty of nitro guys left. I have electric also and would love a new battery technology but even then I still wouldn't wanna give up my nitro.

I go out to my garage and fire up a nitro engine periodically cuz I like to. Its fun and exciting.
Now if I were to go spool up an electric motor it wouldn't be fun and exciting at all.
I gots NITRO love.

Yeah I have all my stuff in a single case I can grab. I kept a few of those Outrage 1 gallon fuel jugs that are more square shaped and it fits in a smaller space than a regular fuel jug. I guess when I see my friend pull and take out the generator, set it up, take out the extension cord and wind it out followed by setting up all the chargers and getting sorted out I fail to see the speed and ease that electric users tout. He doesn't seem to mind the fuss though so it's all good. He also has nitro and gasser models so he can fly those while charging batts for something else.

I actually read it wrong the first time or it was edited but I thought it asked what was liked about it.

Re-read it and that is why I've had nothing more to say.
The OP asked for the replies.

My comment is still true for the vast majority of the other nitro related threads....E fanbois will never just pass them by.
They just have to pop in and tell us why we're so stupid for enjoying something that has nothing to do with them.

That made me think of a funny scene.

Whirrr whirrr....bzzzzzz
"Whoa, cool....it's brushless man."
LOL

But, Nitro isn't just cool, it still stands as the greatest amount of power you can put on a rc helicopter.
