I have 15 or so nitro helis and 2 electrics, nano and a new DFC 550, I hate waiting on batteries to charge hence the nitros with there fuel and fly approach.

Nitro is far from dead, perhaps reinventing itself at this point.

The nitro models that have come out as of late are stale, nothing different to grab onto.

Perhaps something will be coming soon that will change the game a bit.

Our field is mostly Nitros.

I honestly think everyone needs both in their collection. They both have their pluses and minuses.

If I had to pick one at the end of the day, it'd be the Nitro though.

Look at it this way, you're not the only one left flying nitro in your area, you are a Pioneer.-----

You can look at it this way gallon of fuel 5 pounds
6 to 7 flights in a 700, 3 sets of batteries 10 pounds o wait generator 45 pounds so I can get some more flights, o wait need my charging station 10 more pounds no wonder I am tired before I get to the field.

Just about everyone at our field has done the electric deal and switched back to nitro! Personally I like flying more than 5 min at a time and if I crash my heli doesn't explode!Ole FD AMA4500 Team JR & Team Cool Power

I like the nitros. I love the sound of the motor running. I love to hear the motor work. The sound of the motor is one of the things that keeps me in the hobby. Yes I do have some electrics too.

It's nitro for me too. Love the new 120 and my YSSR903d is no slouch either. I have electrics in the fleet and they are clearly cleaner, I just like to see that smoke.

I am a hardcore nitro guy but I will admit to coming around to E power. My blade 450X is outstanding and compared to my nitros it seems to have endless power. I will also admit that I flew my E powered helis more in 2012 than my N powered ones. I also think any new birds in my future will be E power except 700 or larger they will be nitro or gas powered. I have always wanted a gasser but life seems to get in the way of that dream.ENGAGE!!

Tbird, nitro is only dead if you let others dictate it's dead. All I own is nitro and love it. I don;t care what the latest and greatest marketed heli is. Fly what you like and don't worry about what others are doing. I've never seen so many people get bored as easily as people do on these forums.

+1 MartyH my club seem to blow with the wind first raptors was the best then it was trex then a few went their own way now they are starting to change over to electric but then try to convince other that its the only way . I will stick with my noisy smelly oily nitro and turbines hehe " one day I will learn to fly till then I will just hover"
