Lipos over discharged.
So, I charged all 6 of my 3S 2200mAh packs, flew 2, then flew 2 the next day then flew the last a day later. ( this was in an airplane )

after flying, I turned off the plane and hung it up. I flew each pack about half time so I could just put them up instead of charging back up to half capacity. Today, went to charge 2 packs and 3 were drained and 3 were half charged. ( one of the drained packs just got pulled out of the plane ) So, now I know not to leave them plugged in.

1 pack read just under 3V on each cell
2nd pack was 3V on 2 cells and .6V on the third
3rd pack was about .8V on each cell.

I charged each at 100mA and all cells are up above 3.2 and balanced.

I also, don't have a charger that tells me IR or anything like that. Are these Batts toast or did I get lucky. Or, how can I tell if they're still usable. I can test them in the plane before using them in my Blade 400.

What do you think?

Assuming they are not totally puffed and in fair condition before this. I would charge them up fully check voltage, if it's close to 4.2 per cell fly half your normal flight time and check voltage again. It should be around 4, if so call it good. Watch that 3rd pack, that is low.I have a 3D heli, I don't understand why it doesn't do 3D.

I have marked the 3 packs so I can identify them if I need to remove them from the rotation. None have puffed up... no physical deformation that I can see. If they charge correctly, I will try them out this weekend in the plane ( its cheap if it crashes and as long as I have power to the radio, likely be able to land it )
I'll fly half the time, then stop and check them, thanks for the input.

Although the battery at 3v is probably good. The other ones are questionable. The question is.... is it worth it.

I tend to change out batteries every season. Nothing like seeing a heli go in due to a bad battery. A new battery is cheap insurance, imo.

So, I slowly charged one to half charged, started the 2nd tonight and one cell was below 3V again and it was puffed up a bit. I got it back up and balanced but I think this one isn't going to make it.

I'm waiting for some LEDs to wire up on my bicycle and use my 3S packs to power them... Looks like these 3 packs will be dedicated bike light packs and I'll buy new ones to replace them to use for the heli/airplane packs.
