How does the quick release battery tray work?
Can someone explain this to me please? Looking at the photos of part H0169-S, you get two carbon plates and some metal components but it's not obvious to me how the battery tray is locked in place nor how the quick release system works.

Thanks, I'd seen that but not found it very clear. I have now downloaded the 770 manual which explains how it works.

Battery set from my new 770. I heat shrinked the batteries right to the tray, the tray slides into the aluminum piece in the back and the aluminum stops on the tray hit the cross brace in the second pic. The second CF piece can be added to the top of your packs as a safety measure.

yup 2 seconds..
1 strap.

slam the packs in make sure the back locks into the new keeper.

then make sure the 2 pins seat.. and strap it down with the 1 front strap.

whole thing is 2 seconds.

but mounting the packs to the trays are semi perm so if you share packs with any other bird you may not want this.

I feel same as Jay however, I still use two straps on the 770 and two o-rings on the 630 just because.

well the rear is impossible to come out of the slot if you get it in all the way so a rear strap is 100% unnecessary that is why they only send 1.

The front is holding the nubs into the frame and in doing so holding the whole thing in the heli.

I upgraded the strap to one of the awesome rubber coated Scorpion straps for extra security.

it will not budge at all.

I bought a set of these, but didn't realize that the batteries have to be shrink wrapped to the tray. Anybody have any ideas on how I could use it without shrink wrapping? The only reason I don't want to shrinks wrap is because I share packs between my Goblins, 7hv, Srimok and Rush 750. I only bought one set and I'm thinking I may go ahead and wrap one set just tp try it. I'm also thinking it may be possible to use velcro between the batteries and bottom tray and Gecko tape on the top tray with straps on the front and rear. Any better ideas?

Hi,

I just added two velcro straps in the rear of the goblin.

My 770 has 30 flights yet with this setup.

I don.t know why you could not Velcro the battery to the c f plate and strap it in ??? I use a 12 inch scale to separate the velcro and slide them out this works maybe one plate would work ??? Vic
