FBL conversion on my old Sceadu EX
Just wanted to get the picture out there, so far only the head has been setup - electronics still in progress.

i found that the std hirobo rods bent when used on my sceadu fbl
i used the thicker align rods with the hirobo rod ends

Thanks for the info, I will have to look through my parts boxes for more robust linkage.

Use the SSZ-IV linkage rods. They are beefed up.

Cool conversion, I would like to do this on my evo for 14. This is an old airplane trick but has anyone glued carbon tubes over the stock linkage between the ball links. It stays flexible but is way stronger.

Who needs a gyro on the main blades!
I am home today because I have the sniffles. With it being such a nice warm day outside, I decided to test fly the Sceadu EX FBL conversion in the backyard without any gyro system installed. This was my first time to try this and it went well enough after cranking up the exponential to soften how the stick responded around center. The power of a direct system is fairly impressive and definitely intimidating.

to get an even better flying model reduce the cyclic pitch
this will soften the heli
flying no-bar (the mans way) isn't as hard as its made out once the heli is set up correctly
with my fbl heli's i set them up with zero trim on the tx to fly hands off
in the hover
i then add the gyro to the head to make things a little easier on the old grey matter

@payne,

I was looking at the swash balls and they are the longer items, easy to change these, thanks for the insight.
