Getting back into the swing of things after a bad run
Well, after a few year hiatus I am trying to get back into the air, I currently have a T-Rex 550e Converted into a 600 with BeastX, but no FBL head, I wish I could afford DFC, but chances of that are slim to none, because I'm really low on cash. (Fighting for disability will do that.) I don't even know how long it will be until I can afford a standard FBL head. Doctor says I can't be on my feet for "extended periods of time" because of the diabetic ulcers that develop on my feet just from everyday chores. So I'm kinda stuck, and I guess looking for a little help. I've never had FBL before, and am also curious about the differences between FBL blades and regular FB blades. Can you fly a FBL bird with blades from a FB heli?
Besides that, if anyone would be willing to trade something for a FBL head for a 600 That'd be cool too. IDK what I have that someone would be very interested in, um, A set of motorola S10-HD bluetooth headphones maybe?

I can tell you yes you can fly a flybarless machine with flybarred type blades and vice versa. If you put a screw thru one of your blades and hang it straight down, if its a flybarless blade it will hang perfectly perpendicular to the ground. (balanced to be aligned dead down the center of the blade lenghtwise.)

Flybared blades dont do this, they hang slightly forward I think, the imaginary line down the lenght of this blade will track towards the front of the blade from the screw (hole) See the image below

So, several people have told me I'd be better off if I went into a little more detail about my story, so, here I sit.
I'm 33, about to turn 34, and I've worked hard my entire life up until my recent amputation, I've worked as a steel worker in North Dakota for Mid America Steel for many years. During a routine doc appointment I discovered I was diabetic, and went in to endocrinology to seek treatment, and develop a plan. When I went in to the doc, I showed him my toe that had been bothering me for a few weeks, and he immediately had me admitted to the hospital. Turns out the blister that had developed on my great toe had become infected, and they needed to debride it, which essentially meant cut out the necrotic tissue. (on a side note, when I was married I thought several times how I wish I could de-bride myself, which happened but that's later :P) After the surgery, I was in the hospital for two days as they waited for it to heal well enough to where I could go home, but that didn't happen. instead, the infection flared back up, and then the doc said they had to amputate my great toe, which they did. A few weeks later, I lose my job because I have taken too much time off. I'm back in the hospital, because my second toe was now severely red and swollen, and after a short exam, and poking around inside my already sore wound with a elongated q-tip with no cotton on one end, they inform me that there is a "tunnel" of infection, and they need to amputate all the toes on my right foot. Suprising the doctor with an immediate response, I'm like "Lets do this." He tells me he's surprised I'm not arguing, and I inform him that I see no point in arguing, it's either the toes now, or later on going septic and dying or my whole leg later on. I wake up, and no toes, no ball of my foot, just an upside down smiley stub of what once was my right foot. The doctor informs me that I more than likely will never be able to walk right again, because apparently, your big toe is a large portion of your balance.... Who would have thought? So anyway, during my rehabilitation, my wife comes to me and informs me that she's pregnant. Most would say "congrats" or "Awesome" or "You're gonna be a daddy, YAY!" Unfortunately, when I was 19, I got a vasectomy. So, no kids for me. She continues to tell me that it's not mine, (DUH) and that she wants to try and work it out. Now, I know a lot of you don't know me, but anyone who does, knows that I have never cheated on anyone, not even a high-school girlfriend, and I wouldn't ever. I'm not religious, so no Gods way or any of that, I just don't see it as decent. The next day, I call a cab, and file for divorce. While I am gone, she leaves and apparently files an order for protection, the next day there is a sheriff at my door informing me that via the papers he has just handed me, I must leave. No grabbing my stuff, it's all "joint property", so I can only take what she allows me to take, which ends up being a duffel bag full of clothes. With nowhere else to go, and nobody else to call, I proceed to call first my older brother, and ask for a couch or a few nights, and get denied, my younger brother, who is out of town at drill in the army tells me there's no way he can get back till next week.... At this point, I have no choice, so I call my mother, and she graciously tells me I can stay there until I get something figured out. I give her everything in my bank account, and tell her I'd like to stay a while. She says that's fine. (later I come to find out that had I NOT given here everything in my account, that she would have more than likely lost the house.... yikes) Now, fast forward from 2009 to 2012, I have no job, unemployment is LONG gone, and believe it or not, the government is fighting giving me disability, and has since oct of 2009. My appeal is pending, and my final date in front of the judge has finally gotten scheduled, so that's at least something. I used to have several birds, three 450s, a 500, a 550 and I once owned a 700 F3c, but that burned... Not to mention quite an impressive array of tools for the hobby, everything from a digital pitch gauge to blade balancers, micrometers, to an entire align tool kit etc etc etc. I fought for it in the divorce, but, since I "left" the residence, and all my receipts were there to prove I bought that stuff, and I couldn't afford an attorney, well, lets just say I didn't even get to screw the pooch before she took him too. (poor dog).
So, I'm reaching out, figuring maybe someone will be generous to help me, and I, in return will attempt not only some form of reimbursement, but my word that I will pay it forward to some other deserving individual, or individuals. I have managed to amass a bird, a BeastX, a radio, almost everything I need, with the exception of a FBL head, now, as I've said before, I'm trying for DFC, doubt I'll be able to afford it anytime soon, but I'd happily settle for just FBL. The BeastX I got was actually quite a fluke, but that's a story for a different time. So that's me, and that's where I'm at. I'm hoping the new year bill bring some joy, and maybe if I'm lucky a woman who doesn't mind a cripple. Happy new year everyone, I wish you all the best.
