I know the hook was set deep in ME when Raja flew his Whiplash for me at IRCHA! Damn guy!!

Raja! How did you configure your radio to act as a choke? Is there anything extra needed on the carb or is it all programming? And how do you get your pull starter to pop off?

I see Raja is a motivated man for snow blowing the whole field like that.
I was flying all day too with my 9deg C (~48deg F) some rain and ±8 inchs of white stuff on the ground.

Back on the subject:

That was some nice flying, I really like Raja's big air style and auto's.

I find that the MA birds are really nice and offer great design/costs/durability.

The T-Rex conversions are also A nice way to go depending on the availability of parts in your area. In my case I mail order every parts so it doesn't mater what brand I buy, it's not available around here unless i drive 2 hours to get them.

I think I'll be estimating mainetenace cost for varius models ! that could be interesting !!

***Just so you know, I fly JR's older Gas model the GSR-260. A new version was recently released and available from Horison. I do Like this model it's big, heavy and smooth but not so sporty. and it's a bit on the expensive side (parts)***

It seams that Gravity is worst around here !

You're very welcome Andy!
I hope you enjoyed the day there with me. I ended up doing a few more flights after you left before heading home to watch the football game. Let me know if you have any questions and feel free to come fly with me any time
Raja! How did you configure your radio to act as a choke?
Basically you setup throttle cut on a 3 position switch:

OFF
OFF
ON

Then you setup a mix on the same switch:

OFF
ON
OFF

And then the switch becomes:

RUN
CHOKE
KILL

For Run, its just normal idle throttle stick all the way down trim center and also = to throttle hold.

For Choke its a mix, throttle to throttle, to lower the throttle about 1/2 way between idle and kill. You have to experiment with the position of this, getting it perfect makes the motor start on the first pull, somewhat off 3 to 4 pulls which is just fine, and way off you'll be up to 7 to 8 pulls plus.

For Kill, its the throttle cut function which closes the carb enough for the motor to die, but not necessarily to the carb stop.

Hope this makes sense.

After seeing the Whiplash and Raja's other gassers I can say that I am hooked now. After going home yesterday and looking at my Trex-550 I kept thinking to myself. Where is the motor? The gassers definitely seem more realistic than an electric heli while on the ground and in the air.

I knew that if you went to meet Raja and see his gassers in action you would be sold. Welcome to the gasser community!Setup is everything, All my heli's can fly far better than I can pilot them
