Jeff Dino
Yes you did help me as did Tim and I do appreciate it. But lets be honest guys, the three OWB blocks are crap. The aluminum is soft and the insert spins. At least 25 people and counting replaced them with the KDE one. I just had a conversation with tim on this. The part is beyond defective so please please please as I told Tim, find out the manufacturing botch and fix it as my three were all bad as were the dozen or so around the forums. I'm not the only one by a long shot.....

Others have confirmed the inferior part and we are not talking about some minor part.

You know how I feel about the white gears so i won't go there. I saved you all money by repairing my own canopy. I have a great 550 that didn't need half of what I did on this.

My rant was the same crap that nu66ie stated on HF. He experienced the same stuff. It's not just me. My point is that there were a lot of mods needed from parts wearing early on. I just wanted the black gears swapped out for my white ones that are developing slop (. TT and umbrella) I asked politely if Tim would swap them out and he said no "as they were still being shipped in the kits"

All I wanted is the freaking gears swapped out as they were sub standard. That's all. I pm'd Dino the same request. I'd put an end to all of this if I could just swap these out...lol. I haven't been made the offer....lol

And yes Jeff I do still have the third OWB that I will send back I have been away from home this last month. Trust me I haven't a desire to keep it. So my question to all the Align folks still stands, will you replace my wearing white gears for the improved black ones? Continuing to tell me there's no problem is what's fueling this! Just replace them and I'm tickled pink.....If you truly are interested in helping as Dino states over and over just PLEASE swap these out......There, I even said please! : )

Gears
Dave V,

Please send me some images of your worn gear Dave. I really would like to see the wear your talking about. I know I have a few flights on my Trekker and I don't have any wear. I'm using the white gears I've flown at 1950 and at 1500 with camera applications without issue. Also would like to know your setting on your CC HV 120. This is very important no matter what helicopter you fly. Please take a screen shot of your setting as this will enable me to see if your parameters are correct. We look forward to getting the auto hub we sent to you in good faith.

Best Regards,
Jeff Fassbinder

Thanks Jeff
That was the one response I was looking for. Now that I got it my rant is over. The answer you stumbled on is to attempt to fix the issue and keep the customer. Every time I heard a response it was always centered around denying the problem existed or it just being a maintenence item.

As nu66ie said on the HF forum, the OWB block really needs your attention as more than a few of us had issues. It really can get ugly if that part fails in flight. Please get in touch with manufacturing and have them address it.

The DFC dampers compress and fatigue abnormally quick, the Lynx dampers seem to working better.

Ill communicate with you via email from hear on out. Ill send the OWB block back as soon as I return home.

PS, my cc settings are from Dino's reccomended 12 on the timing and PWM, set gov. Gain 1500 low 1950 high, pole count and kv set correctly.

And thanks for looking at this through the customers eyes Jeff.

Even if they do solve the problem, they will charge for the fix. It's just another way for them to make a buck off the end user. Obviously neither assurance rc or align really care about their customers experience, or the substandard parts they include in their kits. I had a trex 700e that b went up in flames because a castle cremations ESC that was recalled, not only did I provide them with a copy of the receipt proving my purchase, but I also provided the one picture of the bird I had, enveloped in smoke, they still don't give a hoot. They offered me a discount on a new kit, which not surprisingly is just giving me the price that the retailers pay for it, so again, NO accountability, NO responsibility, just brush it off and keep building inferior junk, there will always be some sucker out there willing to spend their hard earned money on aligns crap.

MNNightflyer do not step into this thread and start, I am fully aware of your case and Assurance stepped up and did this for you.

They have offered you a discount without proper photos I think this is more than fair. And you have gained a Trex 600 free of charge already replacing the heli you lost, plus gain a discount of 50% off on an any purchase offered from Assurance. all this without the proper photos i say Jeff and his team went way above for you, In regards to the ESC we buy them from CC it was up to CC to make the Recall happen when there was a problem with there products not Align.

First off, don't tell me what where or how to post. Secondly, stepped up and did what, offered me the same deal the hobby shop I bought my bird from did? That's not Stepping up, not for align and not for assurance. My local hobby shop owner stepped up. He offered me a replacement at their cost, obviously, being disabled I cannot afford it, not to mention he isn't giving me a 30 day window in which I have to make my purchase in. He obviously understands what disabled means, and the financial difficulty it can bring. Assurance or Align stepping up would be saying hey, I'm sorry about what happened, let me make it better. Not oh let me cut out the middle man so I still make another buck off you. You know jack about my situation. You think it's a good deal? Send me a T-rex 700, fully dressed in perfect working order, and ill send you a 600 air frame that's partially assembled but missing a few random parts, and all the incorrect linkages with no electronics(servos, motor, gyro etc) and we'll say I stepped up for you. Sound fair? Oh, and don't forget the batteries, receiver, and all the time you'd lose assembling it, and dealing with people on phones for a well over a week (40+ hours) too, cause we all know people's time isn't worth anything either. Wake up and smell the BS you're spewing. I'm not really so mad at castle, they at least TRIED to rectify it, but they can only do so much, because like you said, they only cover the ESC.

MNNightflyer, I would agree on this. This is for a specific problem for one person who feels the need to share his personal grief to the world. You are not contributing in a positive way to this post.

Hidaven, if these problems are so big, why aren't more people posting these problems? I did a google search and your issue seems to be the only in the light. Are their deficiencies? Most likely yes, but no mass issues popping up on the search. Besides, I must give Align kudos for chiming in and trying to help out here.

Lets hold off
The issue is being handled by Jeff and Dino and Im satisfied that this will be addressed from a corporate perspective in the near future. In the meantime I gave my word that I'd back off and intend to keep it.

I have no intention to give up on this bird as I just sent the canopy out to get repainted. No flaws, I just can't see it. : )

I LOVE ALIGN TREX's just FYI
i own the whole family of TREX's from 100 - 700 and
800 Trekker is supposed to be delivered tomorrow... YAY!!
Can't wait to put it together and go fly it!

just wanted to chime in and say that every time something went wrong
with any of my helis it was a "user error" AKA me. and not
the way heli was designed, it was how it was put together or configured.

I am very happy with all that Align does for us and very satisfied
with TREX family of helis.

it's not a cheap hobby / sport so if you are in financial pickle
maybe you shouldn't be picking up a hobby where any second you can
plow $1000+ into the ground!
