It's hard to say with either one. I have tried flying 3 different of each, and they fly ok until you invert them. Doesn't matter what upgrades you do, and from what I've seen it's 50/50 on the mcpx. Check out the thread "heli you regret the most"

Mcpx is slightly better outdoors due to its larger size/weight, the nano is only really good indoors or if its really calm. The tail is better on the nano. I prefer the nano as the tail is very hard to blow out whereas the mcpx tail will blow out if you look at it funny!

Personally if its to be used outdoors ide go for a 130X.

60% of the time, it works every time!

Either will keep you on your toes.

I vote Nano, I have both but the Mcpx control board died. The Nano gets crashed a couple of times each flight and hasn't broken anything yet. Just be forewarned, the Nano has very quick cyclic. It took me a while to get used to it. Makes my 450 feel like a 600

Heli-itis sufferer.

I had both and like the nano tons more, you can actually do stunts with it... And I flew it outside in 15mph wind, it had the shakes and was a handful but it flew

I have had 3 mcpx's and now a nano. The Nano in my opinion blows the mcpx out of the water. Don't get me wrong the mcpx was a great learning tool and help me push my flying to new levels.

The Nano is a handful at first but I love the way it flies now and it can do anything I can throw a it. The tail holds awesome and it just never breaks. I did burn a motor up pretty quick and have been waiting for a week and a half to get my new one.

You can get the MCPX for cheap, it has my vote. I am on my 3rd. They are great fun and good for learning. If you are expecting a miniature TREX you might not like it. Tail blow out happens all the time and poor collective management shows big time. Once you get over the fact that it has limitations, pushing them is really fun. Good luck.

I have a 3D heli, I don't understand why it doesn't do 3D

I have an mcpx and Nano. My vote goes to the nano. It doesn't have a lot of power but the tail holds MUCH better than my mcpx. I have had the tail blow out more times than I can count on my mcpx but the Nano has been rock solid (with the rear fin removed). It would be nice if it had a bit more power, but I'll take a better holding tail over more power any day. Backwards flight upright and inverted is no problem with the Nano. I have also wrecked it 20-30 times and still haven't replaced a single part. Great little heli IMO.

130 is better than both, but I had to do a few mods to get mine flying how I like. Awesome heli for indoors or small areas where a 450 is too big.

I vote nano, I have both. But if you're not flying indoors, I'd go 130x (I have one too). The nano may be underpowered but I saw yesterday that WOW has a new brushless conversion for it, which I will be ordering up in the next day or two. They're all a pretty good bang for the buck.
PS - the nano is like 100 times tougher. I've yet to pop a link and I've flow it into every hard surface in my living room in idle up....

Nano, for two reasons: The tail holds better and they are very hard to break. They also needs no mods to fly well. Great little sim substitute.
