DX18. EASY to program, the lcd is readable in the sunlight, has just about any option you could want, and the price is reasonable as well. LOVE mine!

I agree with helixangle, Futaba was always my choice years ago, but I cant figure out the programming.

Looked at all major radios.
Had Futaba for a long time.
Bought the 18mz also.

Easy to program, nice readable big screen, weight and size ok.

I like the futaba concepts. Never had any issues on their stuff.
They had their receivers and servos work down to 3 Volts when the other manufacturers had a lot of trouble in low volt areas.

It might be their experience in industrial control.

There is something i think banjamin franklin said a long time ago:
The bitterness of lower quality stays a long time after the sweetness of the low price has gone...

Jeti might do their way but their handheld radio has no reliability track as it is not on the market yet.
It is more a hype on their milled housings from my point of view.
That it is a lot harder to make a good quality plastic housing most people do not know.

14mz$ vs 18mz$$ are they worth the high cost?
Well the 14mz was way overpriced for a transmitter that initially had a problem with the touch panel. Also very hard to see unless you are pointed into direct sunlight! Battery problems also existed because the thing was power hungry!

Now comes the 18mz with a new easier to read display that is expensive to replace out of warranty but at a cost of an additional $1000.00!!!!!!!!!!

No thanks Futaba!

So the 14sg is just about to be released and looks very promising with its clear LCD display and long battery life. It just may give my new DX8 a run for its money???

However you can't compare a DX18 to the 18MZ. The Futaba is clearly the winner by a knockout! But look at the price difference.

I am with Dood. If you don't need telemetry, 8FG's are going to be very cheap as everyone dumps them for today's latest and greatest. Gotta love those people. They have saved me a ton of money over the years.
