429 details
A few more details

1/7 scale
72" long
10.5" wide
I have not weighed it yet, waiting till I get the interior installed.
I am using a scorpion 4035 330kv motor on 12s 5000 batterys with a castle ice 120hv.
The good news is so far its averaging between 24 to 28 amps during the two test flights. more testing later this week.
the main gear is the 700 size 115 tooth m1 gear with a kde 13t pinion. as soon as the scale 800mm blades and head are available I plan on giving them a try.

More later

After watching your second vid, I have to say that 800mm blades are going to be right at home on this bird. The 700's actually look a bit small on this monster! I noticed that this fuse has been released in Europe already. I'm assuming that Cliff is making some changes then releasing it here in the states? Any idea what the release date will be?

You are right the 800mm blades are what this machine needs. I was told there are fuselages on the way now, so I would guess a couple of weeks. The parts needed for the mechanics are being put together now.

Very cool! I'm hoping that Cliff has designed a clutch into the driveline. If not, I may play around and see if it can be done. This is gonna be one heck of a nice heli...

The passenger boarding assist rails/steps are distinctive on the 429. If they are not part of the kit they will certainly be high on the scale modeler's added detail list. They are not on all versions but seem to be the rule rather than the exception.

Do you know if the production model of the rex700 mechs side frames will have direct to swash servo locations? Has Cliff said what paint schemes will be available, other than the red/black version?

The mechanics are based on the chaos/rex 600. They still have the belcranks.
There will be available unpainted, the red, blue, and a couple of others.

Cool. I mentioned the rex700, because those are the donor mechs with custom frames for the European version... I figured they would be the same.

I think the European website is wrong, according to Cliff this is the only one flying so far. The plans are to use the 600 as the base with a couple of 700 parts added to them. The frames are not cut for the 700 parts.
I should have it flying again by the end of the week with a clutch if all the parts come in.

Interesting info, the EU site must be wrong. So he's coupling the 700 gear with the 10mm mainshaft.

Looking forward to seeing your new version with the clutch. Should be awesome. I re-read this entire thread and you mentioned scale 800mm blades for this kit. Do you know when they will be available?

I decided to use the 700 m1 main gear because i did not think the stock 600 gear would take the extra torque of the longer blades and multi blade tail. Kde makes a hub that allows you to use there machined main gear in a 600 size frame. That along with the metal tr drive gears makes a strong drive train.
I have a set of the "production" main blades now. They are prepaintedLEFT hand rotation semi symmetrical so am waiting to convert to laft hand rotation till i get the clutch worked out. Im not sure how many Cliff has in stock now but thet should be ready when the fuselages are.

the kde set-up works great and adds a lot of strength to the 600!!!
I'm using it on my 5 blade MD500... also get the (KDE) motor mount and you can upgrade to a high torque motor...
