Iam looking for a FBL controller with some kind of bailout function and built in gov. To go on a Titan X50 or if vibration is a problem I have a Align 550e I can put it on.

Why are some obsessed with the bailout function? It’s probably been two years I have always just landed. I really think that’s much safer than bailout whether flying Nitro or EP. I never even bother with activating that function any more.

Only one I know that really has bailout figured out is Helicommand. I wish someone else would give them some serious competition.

HC does not have an integrated gov.

Vibes will not be an issue with HC, it is one of the most tolerant.

HeliCommand HC3-SX

I am currently flying one on my Raptor X50 and it will bail out right side up or upside down. Tested it in many ways and is quite impressive.

You can chose from bailout and hold collective (rigid) or bailout and climb. You can also set how much pitch it adds on the climb. The rigid mode is great if you ever need to "park" the heli in one position for whatever reason.

One thing folks fail to mention is how good the fbl unit flies. Is as good as my Vbar, and they are flawless. Very similar to program "like" the Vbar. That means you need a computer to do any adjustments if needed.

I saw HeliCommand in action at IRCHA. One of the gasser guys had one and no matter what the heli was doing it would stop moving and start to climb slowly inverted or upright depending on what way was quicker for it to get into. It could save someone some money if you can get into it a few secs before you smack the dirt.

The sim controller is the best bailout.Learn to fly and correct when you screw up on the sim so ya don't waist $$ on something you should learn anyways..You can't learn to correct when ya have something doing it for you..
If you can fly around and sport fly, auto bailout is pointless but I can understand a new pilot needing it..

No question, hands down the HeliCommand HC3-SX, for "bail-out" and "self-leveling" it just rules and i've used them all.......
Why are some obsessed with the bailout function? It’s probably been two years I have always just landed.
i'm sorry ben but i don't follow what your saying about bail-out ?

If ya read about the HC3sx the bailout function lets you flip a switch on tx and the controller on chopper takes over levels out either upside down or rightside up and adds collective to shoot it back up into the sky. Then you have plenty of time to figure out what to do next.

I think I would like to try this HeliCommand bail-out function. But what I really want is a hard deck of some sort. For example if I try and do a pyro flip 20 feet in the air, and get disoriented such that the helicopter drops below 10 feet in the air. Something which keeps the helicopter from plummeting into the ground if I give the wrong collective input.

HC3sx is really a solid unit. I tried the Sk0okum 720 and was never able to get consistent results. Any time it did not work correctly I was told it was a vibration problem on my part.No such issues with HC3sx

Thats pretty cool, but I thought my vbar units were expensive!
I also wonder if Mikado can add this to the vbar with an online update?

Still one saved heli would pay for it easy.

The HC3-SX that includes the rescue mode is more expensive, but the standard and extreme HC units are lower priced than VBars.

No, it can not, it takes added sensors to work properly, is not just software. Same with the two basic HC units cannot be upgraded to the SX because they lack that hardware.

The basic HC can be upgraded to Extreme, parallel to express Vstabi can be upgraded to pro.

Yep, bad lighting, sun in your face, distraction or whatever monkey business when trying to fly beyond ones ability, an fbl unit with rescue mode can save your day (and wallet)

FYI, The hardware in all of the HeliCommand X-Series systems is the same. We do not use any extra sensors other than the 3 gyros in each unit. What makes our SL and rescue modes possible is nothing more than very clever and well written software. This is what you are paying for.

Also, any HC3-Xbase or HC3-Xtreme system can be upgraded to the Full HC3-SX spec. The price you will pay is approx the difference in the original cost of the systems.
