I was wondering what is the biggest battery you can get under the hood of a Trex 500efl pro. I know with the older 500's I heard some say the largest you could get was the 2650mah but the 3000's were to large to fit.

Any advice would be great.

Thanks

Ok. I was also looking at trying the Glaciers from EPbuddy but they jump from 2600mah to 3300mah. Do you think the 3300's are too large for this heli?

J-man, There is only about one mm difference in one dimension between my Sky lipo 3000's and my glacier 3300's. Hope that helps.

main thing to look at is weight. Look for packs in the 430g range. I'm flying GensAce 2600, Sky 2600 and Nano 2650's on mine. I've even flown 2200 packs from my 450 (two of them of course).

Thunder Power 2700's fit great with the sleek size. Nowhere close to 8 min times on a efl pro though, close to 4- 4:30 times.

I have been very happy with my 2700 Thunder Powers and the Pulse Ultras. 4 to 4:30 is my flight time running a flat 100 throttle curve on an 11t pinion.

I tried a friends Glacier 3300's and they were pushing on my canopy pretty badly. I guess it could have been how I had them placed in there

quite a bit - 3300 size packs can fit the older style Trex 500 frames but the EFL/DFC style frames needs the smaller 430g packs for a comfortable fit and proper CG balance.

Gensace 3300 25C fits the 500EFL and the older 500ESP with the dropped battery tray. It feels better to me with the lighter 2600-2700 size packs.
