i occasionally would land at our rc field and take who ever was there flying up for a ride and if i had the duals in , give them some stick time.
How did they do for the first time on the sticks of a full size? was it something that R/C pilots could pick up the feel for pretty quickly? Did you ever let someone try to hover (high up of course)?

very good question. the guys i let have the cyclic stick did very well. one fellow within about a half hour could keep the full scale with in an area about 100 ft by 100ft. the other were not as good. the airplane guys wanted to over control then i would have to settle the helicopter back down and let them try again.

i could see that with the tests the army did. i know the border patrol had ordered a large number of the 600n when they first came out and then wanted out of the contract due to the high work load of the torque pedals. that is when i think MD installed a sas system on the tail. the notar is a lot smoother then the t/r blades. one day i was flying our govenor and he made a comment about how smooth the helicopter was over our bell products
