God had NOTHING to do with it.
We do it ourselves without God's help (free will). Our time here is finite.

People should be suing to get the 10 commandments posted on public property, not removed.
If the Ten Commandments had been printed in anything other than the bible, it wouldn't be such an issue, which is ridiculous. Those ten things, if adhered to, makes for decent, caring member of society. Only a true idiot rejects these items simply because they view them as a religious dictate. It's a human dictate, regardless of who you worship, or if you worship at all.
Really, lets see here.

1. Thou shalt have no other gods before me. - Thats not really helpful

2. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image - Ok

3. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain - Yep this is life changing that everyone follows.

4. Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy - another one that every one follows

5. Honour thy father and thy mother: - Thats sweet

6. Thou shalt not kill. - Half way down the list and we get to one that has a real meaning

7. Thou shalt not commit adultery - Ok not bad, but how many really follow it.

8. Thou shalt not steal - Ok here is the 2nd one that is good.

9. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour. - Nice and we have laws covering it.

10. Thou shalt not covet - Really wanting is bad now

Ok here are your 10 commandments. The first 4 of the deal with God and god only, which bump into the whole church and state thing.

Dont kill and dont steal, I guess rape is good to go then as is just beating the crap out of someone.

I think with some more study you will find the above items and many others are covered as well in these 10 commandments.
I see rape covered well in 7,9 & 10 as well as not understanding #1-4, just think why would a person rape? The same goes for beating somebody, they are both forms of abuse and are equally wrong typs of behavior.

The 10 commandments are impossible to keep. Everybody knows that. They are the rules the bible says would make the perfect person. No one is. Bible says you believe in Him and you get to get on the heaven train. You get His forgiveness.

People don't like it cause it reminds them of how they are.

You need to tell GOD about your Free Will:

Then you need to explain what has more value:

The Life of a Child or the Life of a Adult: or life of the un born.

Then you need to tell HIM why : and Explain it
HE's driving - Our culture has NO say ---Invincible power

Then HE might tell you why --- You are separated
You do not see the force's of the wicked - It is relentless - our world.

Those Children are Exactly where they are needed they are in a very special place, for a very special purpose -

Yet we fail to recognize the force's of the presence

As adult's we live in a world we have created - It will not stop

ALL previous cultures have done it - this is NOT NEW: for thousand's of year's.

Time to re- learn FEAR

or what they see on TV and movies. Shot in the chest at 10 feet with a 9 or a 45??? Ah, that's just a flesh wound. Real life you'd have a hole in you big enough to throw a dinner plate through. Shooting a man running full pace at 100 yards with a 38 snubby??? No problem.

This IS absolutley correct
We have left our 1st Love and forgot our lamp stand.

He was & is letting us run our own sandbox.

Last thing this Earth Need's is ANOTHER:

Even left a few remnants to look back on: Like the Roma or the Greek's

We can still physically touch and see those piece's.

Without obedience it too will be a lifeless sea of sand.

If he's got something against us - We better get RIGHT

He's pointing it out. We have departed from our 1st LOVE deliberately.

We should be listening - it has taken a period of time - he Condemns cooling off of a relationship.

Soon we will be pushing our concrete around turning it also into sand with the behavior to go with it -- it is here

FIX IT - Before we also become barren

I see you're still bearing false witness to the Bible, Thomas.

Adultery, bearing false witness and coveting, are not the same as rape. No matter how you try to spin it, it doesn't say anything about rape. Furthermore, 9 and 10 only relate to ''thy neighbour.'' For example, 6 doesn't say thou shalt not kill thy neighbour, it just says thou shalt not kill, which means thou shalt not kill anyone.

But 9 doesn't simply say thou shalt not bear false witness, it says thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.

So as well as rape and beating people up, bearing false witness and coveting are also ok according to the 10 commandments, just as long as it's not against thy neighbour.
The same goes for beating somebody, they are both forms of abuse and are equally wrong typs of behavior.
See, you know better than the people who wrote the Bible.

You seriously think that if people follow no other rules, laws, or have no other morals, except the 10 commandments, they would be perfect?

An eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth etc, taught people not to go overboard when taking revenge against people who wronged them; that the punishment should fit the crime. Christianity subsequently taught people to love and forgive their enemies. But that's unrealistic, as no-one really loves their enemies, or wants to forgive them. Most people believe criminals should rather be punished. I doubt anyone here would be capable of loving Al-Qaeda terrorists, for example, or would want to forgive them any punishment for carrying out acts of terrorism. So in this sense, Islam was an improvement on Christianity because it's more realistic, in that it encourages people to fight in self defense, to make treaties with their enemies, and to punish criminals. Sharia law may seem abhorrent to us nowadays, but it was no doubt a big improvement on the laws, or lack thereof, that most people lived under 1600 years ago.

All religions were modern when they first appeared, and would generally have been intended to improve the way that people lived at the time. As another example, the Torah / Old Testament taught people to sacrifice animals instead of their children. In the words of Britain's chief Rabbi, Lord Sachs, ''Judaism is a polemic against child sacrifice,'' which he says was common in several other tribal religions at that time. While for evangelical Christians, Genesis describes the beginning of time, and the beginning of mankind; for Jews, it represents the beginning of the Hebrew civilisation, and ''God'' is their god, who acknowledges the existence of other gods - as per commandment #1. ( Note to Thomas - that would explain how it would be feasible for Cain to have built cities. )

Then Christianity followed a few thousand years later, where of course god sacrifices his own son, which was supposed to be the sacrifice to end all sacrifices.

While religions do have some good points, and have probably done much to advance civilisation, by today's standards they are badly outdated, and probably now do more harm than good. As our societies have improved over the years, so have our morals. While religions would have been invented by among the most moral people back in the day, our morals are nowadays much better than theirs were back then.

Well that didn't happen in the Great Depression, and this 'depression' is not nearly so 'great.' More than likely our economies will go the same way as Japan, which now has a national debt of well over 200% of GDP, but the standard of living is still very much first world.

Eurozone countries aren't comparable to the likes of the US, UK and Japan, as they can't print their own currencies to suit themselves. So conditions in Greece or Spain aren't coming to the US any time soon.
