its a kit...very good!

I'd be interested in something like this myself...been on the fence about getting the Align 550 DFC.

Thing I don't like about Align is the 'combo'...I got years of crap to use in it, so does anyone else that's been around...don't need their crap, got my own.

I fly Mikados but they do not understand the market to save their lives: the 600 is great...the 500 has plenty of competition, so how many people will pay more for that and order from one shop thats not 100% in stock?...

If Blade can keep the parts flowing and parts prices right, this will sell very well

It's pretty easy to find Align airframe only kits.

Interesting that one shows an MSRP of just $50 less but is stripped of all the electronics???

In the end, $639 also seems reasonable for an airframe to me.

That is the kit with only motor and ESC.

Not the $999 combo

550X
This is another great release by the hard working folks at Horizon! These guys are serious about helicopters and this newest offering doesn't disappoint! I was lucky enough to get to fly one at OHB and I was very pleased with the performance! Its a well thought out design and very nice fit and finish and one only needs to look at this frame and you'll instantly vision what might be offered in the very near future!

Take offs are optional! Landings are not!

Bob, thanks for the link, but the more I learn about the 550x, the more it interests me. the price of the 550x is on the money...knew there was a reason I put off another 550 until now...

It seems to me most of the serious helicopter manufacturers have it down as to what makes a bird fly well, "on Rails". What I think separates the good from bad would be how well they crash, availability of spares and cost of spares.

Earlier someone asked who was flying in the demo video, that means nothing to me, I dont buy a reps name, dont care!

A thought I had about the price is, why have it as high as your competitor, if they want to take away market share breaking into the market with a new size bird they should be as much as possible lower than the comp, as pilots buy this bird if it is a quality bird work will spread more people will want it. After interest and trust in this model grow creep the price up with V2 or even leave it low and win with mass sales vs low sales higher price.

Blade 130x (5)
Trex 550 V2 (18)
Shuttle ZXX
Freya Xspec (20)

Don't forget whenever there's a new model or brand, there's bound to be teething problems in the first run, that couldn't be discovered once its out in mass numbers compared to R&D and testing.

I believe they should offer an introductory price for the early run until demand is high.
