He is not anti-gun, he is anti "assault weapons", just like a lot of politicians on both sides. Plus if what he said is true that he was working as a security guard and forgot the tiny little gun was in his bag, then he was not carrying like those with a carry permit. It was a tool for his job.

Either way, if you are too stupid to remember you have a gun in your carry on bag, then where else would you forget and leave it. Those type of people do not deserve to carry if they can not remember where they left a gun.

Perfectly stated. Couldn't agree with you more.

he is anti "assault weapons",
thats just what they say...deep down they only want the gov to have firearms...

as for this:
Trotter told police he worked late last night as a security guard and didn’t realize the pistol was in his bag
Thats the biggest load of crap...
Illinois State Sen. Donne Trotter
A STATE SENATOR moonlights as a knuckle draging rent-a-cop? BS!

Why doesn't he just go ahead and look down the barrel and pull the trigger to see if its loaded too...

Here is the issue with the FEDS, you give them a little bit. The FEDS will take more than you are willing to give.

Why are the FEDS allowed to have fully automatic machine guns without stamps? Us joe blow needs to have been investigated and stamped with a high price of $20k for a fully automatic gun.

The hypocrisy is just bizarre these days in my opinion.

Guess I am just tired of the double standard these days. Rarely responsible gun owners go on a killing spree, it is always majority the criminals and corrupt law enforcement that kill.

exactly my thoughts...they want to ban "assault" weapons...yet 99% of crimes are committed with nickel and dime saturday night special type pistols...yet small caliber small magazine pistols always fly under the radar. they should do the OPPOSITE. any gun under a certain size should be regulated. I am an avid lover of the ar-15 platform. sure I could get a 200 round clip and any accessory known in existance but considering I spent $850 for a plain ar-15, $400 in reloading equipment, another $800+ in accessories (ONE different caliber barrel+ magazine, shell catcher etc) That should show that I have other interests in this so called "assault" weapon.

only way ill ever make the jack is if i work at a cheese factory

exactly....

but also keep an eye out...cause soon there gonna start trying to outlaw reloading or handloading of ammo....cause you can "increase" the lethality of most firarms by loading with HP, tungsten core and hot loading....

they have already started increasing the price for reloading components, propellant is twice as much as 10 years ago, primers, bullets, brass....

remember when you could get 223 cal ammo cheap, like 10 cents per round or cheaper? now some of this crap sells for 30 - 50 cents a round.

I think thier plan is to price the lawful citizen out of quality firearm ownership....then the gov will be the only one with the good $hiT.

showing a preference will only get you into trouble, 90% of everything is crap...

guys...they're going to go after the ammo first. No bullets....no risk. They're going to "back door" the whole thing. A gun with no ammo is a big, chunky, non-aerodymic rock. And thats' just what they want. Then they come after knives, then sticks and stones, then your hands, eventually your mouth, because speaking against them is offensive to them. Every single d-bag needs to be voted out. Both sides.

reloading ammo has become rather expensive compared to my .45acp days when i could make a near perfect round for $.03 a piece. i bought lead in bulk. of course ive run out of that stash in a few years and was shocked that it doubled in price last time i checked...and that was 3 year years ago. my fave for the 223 is the sierra 69 grain moly coated. all around the best ive had the pleasure to shoot. anyways... someone capable of reloading ammo is smart enough to tone down their rounds not only for making powder last but lower charged rounds are more stable which is what we want. of course we all have our special rounds. besides that hornady has their red line of defensive rounds that are borderline barrel busting. they would have to outlaw a manufacturers line of ammo before reloading i would think.

That is what the right has been saying for 4 years and the only gun legislation that has been signed by Obama are 2 bills that gave us more gun rights.

Let me guess, he was waiting to get re-elected before he went after our guns? 4 more years of the same b.s. the right has been spewing.

It's not as simple as gun vs. assault.
A gun is a general classification which includes all weapons that fire a projectile.
If we narrow this down to rifles only we have 3 basic types.
1) Bolt Action
2) Semi Automatic
3) Full Automatic

By actual definition an assault rifle is any rifle either semiautomatic or automatic with large capacity magazines designed for military use.
Usually people refer to an assault weapon as full auto and a tactical weapon as a semiautomatic.

The real definition we need to be concerned about is what is considered high capacity. At present in my state you can't have a magazine larger than 10 rounds unless you have a pre-banned clip. If they say a gun can't have a clip larger than 5 rounds then my bolt action rifle could be on the targeted list.

An assault rifle is a selective fire rifle that fires an intermediate cartridge. Thay are already "banned" in the sence that you have to go through all of the same hoops and expense of getting any full auto weapon purchased.
That is if your state allows them at all!
What they want to ban is the rifles that look like an assault rifle.

We WILL remind you that you said this when it happens. If we're wrong...no harm, but if we're right???
Don't cry about it when they come for your guns. You've given up that right by supporting his agenda.
