I just bought my first 2.4 module for my old 9303 radio and it came with the AR7010 receiver. I needed the module for my new BNF Blade mCPx but didn't really need the receiver. http://www.horizonhobby.com/product...ible-SPMMSJR720
Now that I have this receiver I am thinking about installing it in my Spectra G but I don't know if it is worth the time to switch everything out. I never have any problems with the old 72MHZ system in it now so I think I might just leave it as is. It does look like the ar7010 can do telematry because it has a bind/data port so maybe that would be cool to hook up down the road or is this little receiver not really made for a 700 size heli?

The AR7010 is the DSMx version of the DSM2 AR7000 receiver which has been the workhorse of the 2.4GHz Spektrum line-up. The AR7000 is a solid receiver that just works flight after flight, day after day. The AR7010 ought to be just as good and reliable.

Of course, with the AirModule RF deck, you won't HAVE DSMx capability, that will operate in DSM2 mode only. The AR7010 will still be a solid radio, for any helicopter, though size-wise it's best suited for 500 size and up. Kind of big for a 450 or smaller heli.

You're not going to be able to use any telemetry feature unless your transmitter is capable, or you use the STI interface with an Ipod, Ipad, or Iphone...

Thanks for the reply. That is what I was thinking from what I read online. I do wish it had 8 channels because I use 8 of them when snapping pictures with my camera. I did see the iPod adapter for the telemetry and that would be cool but I doubt I'll spend the money for that stuff. Maybe I will try to sell it since I don't really need it at this time. All I wanted was the transmitter module so I could fly the mcpx. Looks like the receiver was the most expensive part of the deal.
