NO, I just want an easy answer, it seems too much to sift through.
Nice machine but the software left a not so good experience. I saw Tareq flying a CGY750 but I am not sure what firmware it was.

You would he best served and made most comfortable by taking 10 minutes to read this thread.

Tareq was not flying V1.3.

Dr. Ben,

I updated my CGY750 to 1.3v and followed you directions, I am having an problem with the Equalizer direction (Equa.Dir)

As shown on page 4 of this manual;
http://downloads.hobbico.com/softwa...1_3_ENG_WEB.pdf

Regardless of how I set it, the swash always tilts back like it's going to do a back flip and when I turn the heli 90 degrees where the swash is supposed to stay in the same direction relative to the surface, it just holds the swash fill back tilt like it's going to do a back flip regardless of what direction the heli is in.

It's not doing what the diagram shows it's supposed to do when the heli is turned 90 degrees.

Know what's up with this?

-Chris

Billme has it right. You need to enable the Rotational Equilizer menu (bottom left of page 3) #10 and THEN check/set the Equalizer Direction (#11) top right of page 3.

Thanks guys. I did not want to speak out of turn without a model in front of me.

You're right, I somehow missed the rotational equalizer feature and it was set to off. Now I enabled it and had to set the Equalizer direction to Reverse to get it to function correctly as the heli is turned 90 degrees.

Flew 2 tanks today on the Whiplash 90 nitro with 1.3v and it flies like a bat out of hell!

I find myself over controling it, what's the best way to tame it down?

Feels like it wants to dart everywhere.

Go to flight mode 3 if not there already and tune the transmitter dual rates as needed to calm it down.

On my previous setups with earlier v1.xx software I had them set in flight mode 4. When I updated to v1.30 it left my flight mode at 4. When I went thru the quick setup sheet I had to set my models to flight mode 3 after the v1.30 update. Might be helpful for folks. Remember to check that. Don't assume the update sets it to flight mode 3.

After the update I had to raise my swash aileron and elevator values to get to 10 degrees. I am at 68 for both now. I have only hovered it and it was very locked in. I need to do rolls and flips to see what the degree per second is for each. This is on my sons Trex 550. I will have to make final adjustments for his liking. I had one issue but got it figured out. In throttle hold the swash was level. Come out of hold and the swash went full back. Found I had different elevator trim in hold then the rest. Set all the trims to combine and it fixed the problem. I also always arm in hold so when I came out of hold it had the different trim and caused the swash to tilt back. Thought I would share that in case anyone else had the same problem. I also did a trim flight test and didn't need any adjustments made. It was a good day for it as we had no wind. Chuck

Initial set up is uncomplicated. For most sport and 3D, go for the suggested AT MINIMUM 9-10 D of static cyclic MEASURED WHEN IN THE SWASH RATE MENU at about 60% SWASH AFR (OK to not be exactly at 60%, BUT keep the actual AIL and ELE % the same). SWASH Pit AFR does not have to be the same or necessarily in the perfect 50-60% range. Remember; travel is at least +/- degrees greater when you leave the swash AFR menus. It may bind on the bench, but it will not in the air.
I had to set the swash AFR on the aileron to 70% to get 10 degrees of static cyclic. Did the same for the elevator to match the values.

Now when I move the sticks to full throw, the HV servos with almost 300 oz-in of torque on the cyclic looks like it's trying to tilt the main shaft as in binding. This gets me nervous but it does not do it in the air to be 100% assured?

Yesterday I flew my X50 and G4 nitro's with the V 1.3. Set to Flt Mode 3, all settings default. Reset Ail and Ele to defaults except set expo's to 0, used expo in 12Z.

Very windy day, gusting to >20 mph.

Both heli's are completely different animals now. Absolutely no wobbles/bounces/etc. Very locked in, almost no drifting, even while hovering in gusts. Possibly slightly too locked in around center but I had -40 expo on ail & ele, have since reduced to -30, haven't flown with these settings yet.

I need a better day to really fully assess but overall it is much better than V 1.2.

Besides expo, I am considering the dead band adjustments and possibly flight modes 4 or 5 if I want it more lively around center. To be determined.

Very nice to be able to use defaults and have them work perfectly. I believe that this will sell 1000% more 750's as set up no longer requires tweaking.

Thanks for the info.

One last remark: While updating my three 750's, I continually received an error message that stated the unit was not responding. Just ignore this and wait about 4 -5 minutes. It will complete successfully.

Ben,

The flight mode 3 is what I have in use the whole time. My D/R rates are at 100/100....

What is everyone running in their Dual Rates?

Also Dr. Ben, I may have my mind mixed up with the 1.2v settings but until a complete 1.3v manual is released showing all the features that 1.3v has and have the old features deleted as they're not displayed in 1.3v

Do I still need to ramp up the gyro gains on ail and elev along with the rudder until a slight wag occurs then back off a little?

Or should I leave it at default settings?

Id be willing to send & lend you my CIU2, but like you said, you don't have a Windows machine.
I wouldn't feel comfortable doing the update on anyone else's gear because I don't want to be responsible if I brick it.

If you make it to Orlando, Steve said he'll be updating units on site.
