So the canopy is not that thin plastic crap like on every other Blade heli released to date?

Well, that's a relief. My mCPx canopy cracked if I looked at it funny.

I have been running these in my frenzy NOBAR with zero issues to date.

The smaller the heli, the more important weight becomes. You do understand that...right?

And, you must have one ugly "look" or something because my mCPX canopies have taken quite a beating and still looked halfway decent before I replaced them.

Well, maybe I am the only one who does not like plastic canopies that melt in the sun and are impossible to repair.

But actually the more I look at it, the more this helicopter is growing on me. The canopy does look sort of cool. And with the Spektrum servos and the BeastX/Spektrum receiver, you know it's going to fly well.

They don't melt in flight and that's why you seek shade when not flying. I don't about you, but I don't like my equipment of any kind sitting outside in the scorching sun if it can be helped.

They are quite easy to repair with clear packing tape on the inside of the canopy...as long as you have all the pieces...

I wonder if they'll offer it with a belt drive tail since a lot of people prefer that system and it would be easy to do.

Nothing "Pro" about a plastic canopy.
EXACTLY...

The last plastic canopy I had was over 15 years ago minus a trex 450 version 1 and my 130X now. My TDR and Logo 700 Xxtreme uh... nope.

I actually much prefer plastic canopies! Lighter, much cheaper and they handle crashes must better! (pros actually crash more than anyone!)

I suppose my hirobo sdx wasn't a 'pro' helicopter either then?!

The only reason fibre glass canopies are better is the fact they can be painted far more easily!

60% of the time, it works every time!

At least its the cutomer who builds it, one thing they did do right imo. Now the video is up it appears it is quite underpowered really and the tag is a little high of a price, but who knows maybe it will sell better then i assume.

I personally feel that the more I see it, the more it grows on me. If this helicopter was released by a new unnamed company, I would probably be very excited about it. At different angles, the canopy does look sort-of cool.

I might pick one up a few months after release when actual customer reviews beyond the company-line/paid shill/get-it-for-free "bestest thing EVAH!!!" propaganda "reviews" are posted up. That's IF it has a good track record AND the on-line sellers start knocking $150+ off Horizon's prize. Based on all the other Blade helis, that will probably happen with big discounts.

The reports coming out of Orlando this past weekend indicated the Blade 550 was a hit! Looks like Blade has another winner on their hands!

Has anyone done the math to determine if the kit with electronics is a descent deal as opposed to buying all ala carte?

With optional 16 tooth pinion
Now that you've seen it with the stock pinion, here's the SAME Heli, same set up, all stock other than the optional 16 tooth pinion.
