Oh yeah
Very nice indeed but not your first choice for a 3D helicopter. Its more like scale/FAI type.

an improved version of the existing GSR260Z, its a BIG model.

810mm blades and weighs over 15 lbs, very similar in specs to the Vario Acrobatic

they indicate they've improved the cooling system, the photos are aren't large enough to determine exactly what they've done there but at least the FBL head is std equipment now

with some configuration and motor tuning it could be a fun flyer. Obviously won't compete with the 17hp electric crowd but with a snazzy paint scheme this would really stand out in the air.

It is GSR260Z Sports
Just so we get the correct model name to compare to the existing machine.
As about the comment it is expensive, the new FBL is listed as only about $20.00 more than the Flybar version.
Yes it has FBL and is also available w/ RX/Gyro/Servo as a complete kit (about $750 extra). Their publicity that it's improved feature of Noise Reduction depends on what it is compared to. Because the GSR260Z Sports w/ Flybar that I have has the exact same Muffler and engine combination.
The FBL head for the GSR260Z Sports is $340.00 at Horizon.
Is the Blue and Gold color combination easier to see than the White, Black and Red accented sticker scheme on the current model ?
Here are the details -->

if youve never seen an older jr ergo 60 or gasser its eye opening... cause its hugggge... and its a pigggggg... but they are good solid flying machines due to that weight... but they are a pain if you have to carry them far lol...

a bit further down on that link is the Caliber ZG model

also a very high quality model. I haven't seen it in an out of the box "sports" config, its setup for a/p or other uses but could be adapted probably easily.

as always, your flying style will dictate what sort of model makes you happy. These big models are like flying pattern planes, big, graceful maneuvers

The only thing that held the older Ergo back was the drive train...Drive system is the name of the game with gassers...

well, it includes:

a Zenoah PUH motor = $360
a JR muffler = $270 (with mount)
810mm blades = $250 (can't find a price)
FRP tail cowling = $200
FRP canopy = $210 (say $100 more than normal)

about $1200 worth of stuff in the box round numbers

at $2600 for the model this makes the air frame about $1400.

current Yen conversion rate isn't too good either. Its an expensive model but when you allow for the included stuff its not as far out of the norm as it first appears

I don't think the price is out of line at all.
You get what you pay for. JR Helicopters are well made machines. Not your typical cheap Made-In-China Century helicopters.

Included in the Price
Just to note:
The main blades are part number 83143 @ $399.00
The tail blades are included part number 61150 @ $39.00
Thus if the Total parts add up to $1470 in the box leaving $1,130 for the frame.
Check out Bergen Intrepid EB @ $1,370.00 or Whiplash Gasser @ $1,111.
And, the JR includes fuel lines, clunk, vented fuel tank cap, finished front and rear canopy, locktite red and green, allen keys, Zenoah muffler and Zenoah air cleaner. Ball linbks do not require re-sizing.
Main shaft is 12mm solid, spindle is 10mm.
In the end not much difference for all the parts.
It is designed as an F3c machine

the feature sheet says they've improved the cooling system, can't really see from the drawings but it probably has a larger diameter

thanks for filling in the blade prices, i did a quick search on horizons site and didn't see anything. I knew they wouldn't be cheap. once you account for all the "its in the box stuff", the airframe price is about in line as Mike added it.

yeah $2600 is not out of line for a gasser that can swing 810's

just did a fbl configure on AirStar International's web page with a slightly larger motor and it's just shy of $4k at $3,956.18
