Cheapest way to convert to FBL
Might pick up a Trex 700N LE, but it has a flybar and the older type bladegrips... wondering what the best way to convert to DFC would be without spending lots of money

My personal suggestion, and this is the voice of experience, would be wait until you crash it, then rebuild it as FBL. I am going to do that exact same thing with my Blade 450 3D.

And before you buy this thing, make sure the blades spin freely and the clutch shaft grabs the engine properly. If you spin the blades around by hand, they should go for 5 or 6 revolutions before stopping.

Tbird, unfortunately all you can do is buy the new version grips and dfc head conversion.

All things considered its only around $125 to change the head over.

I recently changed a 600n over to dfc. All said and done was over $500 with vbar and other changes that had to be made.

As a side not, you might check other forums, ebay etc. I did see a new complete DFC head for sale awhile back.

Good luck
Roy

Any suggestions for a good but inexpensive FBL controller? I have an old 600N that I'd like to convert since I can't get any real dollars for it if I sell it and it still flies well...

Thanks,
Pete

Thunder Tiger/Ace GT5.1 is a very good FBL gyro on the T-Rex 700 and 600. I use the GT5 on my FBL converted 700N.

To convert a 700N to DFC you need the following parts:
H70089A Head with main shaft, grip arms and links - $72.99
HN7116 Main Blader Holder w/o arms - $52.99
You will need servo arms with shorter radius or inner holes like the Align metal servo wheels HSP61007 (Futaba) HSP61008 (JR) - $22.99

Total less FBL unit = $125.98 without servo wheels

If you want to go Align non-DFC FBL, here are the parts:
HN7095 Main Rotor Housing with bult-in swash follower - $36.99
HN7124 Control Arms from follower to swash - $22.99
H700066 Linkage rod set A - $6.99
H70035 FBL Shafts (2) - $17.99
HN7096 FBL grip arms and holder combination - $57.99
or
HN7116 Holder - $52.99 and HN123 FBL holder grip arms - $19.99

Total less FBL unit = $142.95 (one piece blade grip/arm)
or $157.94 (two piece blade holder and arm system)
