it works i actually got it to charge one last question since i'm now charging the 2cell lipo like a nicad can i just plug it in and leave it to charge overnight like i do to my nicad's is there a danger of potential damage to the lipo using this method?

The battery in the Scorpion Gaurd is a 500mah 2s lipo. Therefor it needs to be charged as a 2s lipo battery at .5 amps which is 1C.

Charing it with a nicad setting will certainly ruin the Scorpion Gaurd.

IMO, the issue is not the electronics. It's the chemistry of the pack. A Life or even a pack of N sized alkalines that you need not tend to so often would be lower in maintenance. I personally just use a 500 mah Protek Life buffer pack with my Kosmik's BEC. I touch up the charge every few weeks and the BEC otherwise keeps it topped off.
