Jive 80 HV shorted out!
What would cause a Jive to pop a capacitor when plugged into power, setting on the table.
My buddy was getting ready to fly when he plugged in his lipo, the caps. back blew off! What would cause that?

Yes 12S, I have been told by a very positive authority that " it happens" for no apparent reason.Bill Whittaker

I had it happen on an 80HV, same thing plugged it in and pow. I called ready heli and they told me that they have had a few 80HV's on 12S doing this. They replaced it for free.

Kontronik don't make the caps! Caps are caps, they have a certain cycle life. Fitting an anti spark system will prolong their life.60% of the time, it works every time!

I use an anti sparking device when connecting the 120 HV kontronik.
Basically a resistance which lets the caps charge without the violent 50 volt .
I hope this will make the caps live longer.
It stops the arcing which damages the connectors too.
No Pitch...No Fun!
