NX4 overpriced?
.. thinking about getting an NX4 but hesitating after checking the price tag of it. For a 500 size heli, I think $449 for a basic kit is a bit overpriced. I would have thought mid to high $300 range would be more reasonable. Just my thoughts.

Here is what I have in mind and the projected figure if I pull a trigger on it.

NX4 Basic Kit: $449
OS37 + Hatori Pipe $265
Radix 430mm blade: $59
Align DS510 x 3 cyclic servos: $165
Align DS650 Tail servo: $60
Throttle Servo: $30
Spektrum AR7110R: $219
BeastX: $200

Total: $1447

Maybe around $1300 after 10% discount special.

Interesting. I bet it's a little hotrod that gets excellent fuel mileage. Doesn't look like anyone here has one going yet though.
Hmmmm I probably won't do it but then again it luuks "unique"

We all know this hobby has never been cheap. I'm very excited about this kit and I haven't been that excited for a while . Look at it this way . Does any one remember how much they spent on servos 10 years ago compared to what you'll spend now ?Bladescrape

I paid about $450 for my Shuttle ZXX in 1995. It had a belt drive and a lot of plastic parts.

these NX4's are bad a$$ little nats buzzing around in the air. Good on fuel, lots of power, quiet, and sound great. AND, very very robust. Seen a guy pile one rotor head first into the ground. Nothing bent or broken, flew hard 3d again! I was very impressed.HeliDirect Field Rep, Synergy N7 w/ OS 105, Torq Servos, Cyclone/ Rail blades

yes, a little nitro hot rod,

I like mine. it's my new fav heli, for now.

it's perfect for the just grab it and go fly machine, not a big fuel hog, and no waiting for packs to charge,

it's the machine to fly when the charger is charging.

perfect fit for me.

I think the kit price is reasonable, but the ready-to-fly price is making me rethink this.

Maybe I'm alone here, but I'd rather have a belt drive than a TT on a heli such as this.

wr linear bec , looking for different bec
Blue line mini vbar pro, 2 jr Satelites
Os37
Header tank, 2 fuel clamps + filter
Enya 3 glow plug
No gov
Gyphoon switch n glo
Lipo flight pack, 2 cell,
30% cool power, want to try Byron fuel
The 499. Kit
I did not want to spend this much on the build,
But, this is what I wanted on my model.
So, it's cheaper to build it the way you want it to be, rather than buying parts twice,

Might get a gov, and might get the silver line vbar.
Parts I had in my hobby desk b4 build

Belt vs gears...

Too soon to tell for me on this kit.
In theory I like the tt. But lost faith in aligns attempt on making a good TT system.
Willing to give this a try, did not have any disappointment with my x5, but I did not fly that much before I sold it,
Sold it because I was cheap, did not want to invest in good battery packs.

A belt never sent me home early from a failure., it has made me say, wow if that was a TT I'd be picking up a wrecked Heli.

This is my first 500 size Heli, never felt the need for this size.
For me it's not the cost of the build but the cost of the crash.

I crash a lot. Lol,

Just started to use a sim, hope to figure out how to use my fingers correctly.

I have just recently seen this heli perform at the HF Funfly. i watched Bobby Watts and JC Zankl BEAT the bajesus out of the nx4 all weekend. I mean beat it up. JC showed up with like 4 and went home with a 1/2 of one. The heli looks very impressive but im not happy with the price tag as well. Too early to tell the full story on the machine till the ordinary people get flying these things thats when we find out all the bad stuff on a product. Thing that sux is it takes all different servos then the 600/700 size meaning everything i have is useless.Novarossi Motors U.S.A

Has anyone seen parts prices for the NX4 yet? Curious to see how much the typical expendable items are.

I'm glad to see ReadyHeli is carrying NX4 kits. I just don't know if they will be carrying parts as well.

I just finished the build on my NX4 and I have to say its the best easy build I've done and I can see repairs will be easy as well due to the design and minimal parts count.i think you get what you pay for. Can't wait to Test fly this weekend.......T.O.R.C.H.S. Orlando Member And T.R.A.C.S. Tampa Member
