7HV Shaking Skids
I have a problem with the skids shaking from side to side (ail).

My arf's are around 55 with 9 degrees. I had to lower the ail gain to below 40 before it would settle down. I gain at 25. D gain down to 30. It would not shake all the time. How low can the I and D gains go? Am I on the right track?

Thanks

D gain could go all the way down to 0. Keep I gain at 30-40%.

I have just transferred my CGY750 from a Trex 700 Nitro to a Rave ENV Electric and upgraded to version 1.3. So a couple changes in the mix.

I did my first hovers today with the ENV (before it chucked a blade grip tie-rod which for the life of me I cant explain - although this could be it) Anyway there was a vibration reasonably slowly manifested itself in the skids that I havent experienced before. It was becoming uncomfortable and landed before it got too bad As this was a test flight we are still running 60% gains on cyclic and was hovering at a head speed of 1720. Dr. Ben would you suggest I also have a play lowering the D gains?

Regards

Given the mechanical failure that occurred during the test flight, I would fix the model and test fly it again. I am not certain that the oscillation you observed had its root cause in the controller.

I friend of mine has flown 1.3 in his ENV with transmitter gain at 100% with no wobble or oscillation.

Thanks for the reply Ben - I was lucky not to have a catastrophic failure - the 'free' blade tracked reasonably well enough for me to land smoothly.

But yes, fix and re-test is in order.

The ENV isnt a new model - it has been electric for a while but flown with flybar and Spartan 760. It has always been a smooth model - so the expectation is high. If OK I'll post back here after the next test flight.
