Training Gear with Flybarless
My boss just bought a trex 450 pro (the full deal with everything). I have been flying helis for years, he has been flying airplanes for years. He is able to hover upright and inverted on the simulator.

We were wondering if it is a good idea to put training gear on his 450 for the first few flights with flybarless. I know how the flybarless will interact in the event that the training gear makes the heli tip back to center on the ground, but have never tried it.

Has anyone ever done this? Is it recommended? We left work today thinking it might be better to just skip the training gear.

Thanks in advance!

we have tried it on a trex 450pro DFC with align 3GX and its not a good idea,. the heli got a lot of vibration and affects the FBL system, its very difficult to inexperienced pilot.

It sounds like you already found the answer!
A sideways stick at the front of the skids will help prevent tipovers with minimum additional weight.

Get rid of the training gear with a digital flybar. My experience with this was the corrections the digital flybar made were fighting me all the way. Training gear with a flybar seemed fine.Grabbem-n-baggem
