thanks for all the help guys!

back to making your own adapters with connectors from rclipo. I already said i was brand new to this, so i cant tell which connector i would need. the names of them is still beyond me. I know the charger has JST XH balance connectors and the balance lead from the battery has 3 wires, that's all.

another concern i have...is it pretty easy to determine which wire goes where when converting to a different style plug? I would be purchasing batteries with universal JR style connectors for power and balance, and want to make an adapter from the balance board plug to the universal JR plug. I don't want any magic smoke coming out...

is it always done like this diagram?http://www.wildharerc.com/products/.../batteries.html

I guess the RX battery voltage display on telemetry radios is pretty pointless with A123s since they don't drop voltage?

What you need to do is check the wiring diagram for your charger and match that with the wiring diagram for the batteries you're using. Then you can assemble your connector.

The easiest option would be to get the RX pack you're looking for with the JST-XH connector already installed.

By the time you look at your radio's telemetry display and then back to the sky to find your plane it will be too late.... the plane will have already crashed !
Been there, done that and old enough to know better.....

Due to the flat discharge curve of A123 batteries I don't believe measuring the voltage under minimal load (telemetry) would be the best option.

I agree with Juan's advice. I rarely ever look at my radio while flying and try to avoid it. Others may be more comfortable with, but I try to avoid taking my eyes off my model while flying.

Load testing is pretty useless.

We fly a couple of flights and charge, noting the mah that go back in. Do that a few times and come up with a mah/flight consumption.

From there I get the number of flights per pack and cut it in half or so since they charge so fast.

Also, WrongwayRC now has the new 2500 cells in stock.

Might have to give him a call or an email. I saw him at an airplane event this weekend and he was showing them around and I bought a set for my 50cc MSX-RAndy

It looks like WrongWay has the 2300's on sale since the 2500's are here. All of mine are 2300's.

Barracuda, what wiring do you get on your plane packs ?
